I did however quite enjoy just getting to know the girls, their homelife, their circumstances and their struggles.

I remember when I read it the first time, I connected so hard with Minoo, and liked Vanessa less. Now I really enjoy Vanessa's snark, and her struggle with finding herself and what love even means! 💜.

Ofc Rebecka will always be in my heart. Her and Gustaf and Minoo 💚💚🤍.

I love Adriana as much as I've ever done. Really looking forward to more of her in the later books!

You haven't gotten any updates here since i have been too busy to post and now I'm almost done with the first book. My god, the climax scene. Linnéa, Elias, Vanessa. AHHAJAGSGAGAGSG

engelsfors is so solid. like, solid plot, solid worldbuilding, solid characters, solid narration etc. any teen girl will relate to at least one of the main characters, or an aspect of them.

but compared to the spektrum kids, minoo, rebecka, vanessa, anna-karin and linnea (and ida, whom we haven't heard pov'ed yet at this point) are almost a little too polished (as characters). it's all a little too narratively tight to really invoke the same kind of "oh my babies, my absolute messy kids, you awfully flawed and REAL people" feeling that i immediately get from emilie, pi, nasrin, noah and alban.

but?? that's also really great. so i guess my point is here (still only 15 chapters in) that past me had a point, but ALSO, that they are both great and excellent for different reasons.

here we go, this is the beginning of my re-read of this book series that I cherised and loved 10 years ago (when I was 19). really curious to see how it/i have changed <3.
