@detroit-fordite reblogged for a starter!
“W-what are you?!”
The gem shrugged a bit. “An agate? My name is Detroit Fordite.”
*An Agate? This didn’t look like an Agate type she’d ever seen before. Even for Agates and soldiers this Gem’s design was……….
Layered. Far too layered. As if a multitude of templates and designs-Gems- were forced onto her and created….this.*
“I……Detroit Fordite……I am Pink Pearl.”
*She greets, for lack of anything better to respond politely.*
The voices started whispering as the Pearl looked her over. Fear of being shattered again resounded amongst them.
‘We’re odd, different.’ ‘She’s a pearl.’ ‘She knows something’s not right.’
Despite the echo of doom in her mind she smiled at the other Gem. “Pleasure to meet you, Pink Pearl.”
“Are you…..forgive me….are you somethi-someone that Yellow Diamond created…?”
*She did her best to ask delicately. Was this one of those forced fusion experiments she’d heard tall tales about? Fragments of various gems forced together unnaturally, opposing pieces trying to make a disjointed whole…..*
Detroit looked very confused at the question. Unfortunately she’d been a complete accident. One could say she was sedimentary, tiny particles of experiment refuse layered and naturally fused together. “I…”
The anxiety from the other voices became much more intense.
“Yellow Diamond?” “No. Not her.” “She could help us.” “We shouldn’t trust her.”
Detroit frowned softly at the argument in her head. “I don’t know?”
Pearl tilts her head curiously at this.
“Oh….? You don’t know your court…?”
Were the identities so mushed together or…had everything just been wiped away? Which would be better? Worse…?
"Oh... that's what you meant? I'm in Blue Diamond's court."
"That is not what she meant." "She knows. Leave." "Don't trust her."
Normally she would shake her head hard right about now. It usually made them stop for a few minutes so she could have her own thoughts for a bit. She didn't because the Pearl was in front of her.
