As far as Jason was concerned, he ruled the streets at night.
No crime unnoticed, no scum left alive at the end of his patrols. This island was different from Gotham, there was no interconnected network of thugs and villains all conspiring against each other and the law enforcement alike. It was a newborn baby in comparison to Gotham, but the thugs were smarter and more adept at⌠well, being thugs. Jason would be the first to attest to the theory that a city with high crime often turned out more less-than-intelligent folk as compared to a city with a low crime rate. He was used to living in that sort of world, and while having less crime around now was a blessing, he also kind of missed that nitty-gritty life that made Gotham home.
He nearly rolled his eyes when an annoyed voice came over the communication system in his helmet, having half a mind to simply ignore him. He knew though that if he just ignored the younger male, heâll just have to listen to more of his âstern big boyâ voice, and honestly â Jason was having too good a night to let the younger ruin it.Â
âWell, Iâm currently out to buy flowers. What are you up to~?â Jason teased, pausing as he pulled out his gun, firing off at thugs atop the bikes. He grinned beneath his helmet, managing to take one out with a headshot before the others had stopped their bikes and dismounted, pulling out their own weapons. Hopping off his own bike, the older male ducked behind a nearby dumpster just as they started firing back.Â
âAnd is this your half of the city? You know, you should really put up a sign or something. âWelcome to Red Robinâs Turf, Enter at Your Own Riskâ sounds good to me. Oh â hang on there Red â I found the perfect shade of tulips!â
Switching off his comm, Jason then rolled out from beneath his cover to engage the others in a more close ranged battle.Â
It wasnât a secret that Red Hood and Red Robin had very different approaches to ridding the streets of crime. Tim preferred a systematic approach, a well thought out, carefully planned attack. Every move, every step was carefully calculated and meticulously planned. No option left unexplored, prepared for every outcome... He never moved until he knew he was ready. Jason was more impulsive, was rouge in his approach, prone to changing his idea and approach in the heat of the moment.Â
When they worked together they made a terrifying combination; but when they clashed well... Tim just found it annoying.
âHood the fact that I hacked into your communication link should be enough to tell you that I probably hacked into your helmet cams too; I am well aware that you are not out buying flowersâ He deadpanned, not in the mood for this sort of game tonight.
âHood, this is my side of the city and you know it. Stop acting like a child because you are bored with your own side; stubborn child of the family was never a flattering label to wear... Now if you are done filling the streets with bullets I suggest you get back to your side before you ruin everything Iâve been working on for we---â
Dead com.
Real mature Jason
It took only moments to hack back into the system and override the com to turn it back on in Jasonâs ear. Sitting himself down on the rooftop heâd been sitting on he just folded his arms across his chest.
âNice, did you learn that trick in cheer leading camp? Next time you want to hang up on me, remember who you are talking to and then just donât. Look if youâre going to insist on taking my turf, at least let me lead you through intel. Iâve been working this for weeksâ
