I’ve had to bust ass to be in this industry. Aquaman is especially cool because being a Kanaka Maoli—being Hawaiian—our Gods are Kanaloa and Maui, and the Earth is 71 percent water, so I get to represent that. And I’m someone who gets to represent all the islanders, not some blond-haired superhero. It’s cool that there’s a brown-skinned superhero.

shakespeare inspired plots
Because I am absolutely Shakespeare trash.
romeo and juliet: Because I’d be sued by the universe if I didn’t have a plot based on this one. You know the story: MUSE A and MUSE B are children of two warring families who, against all odds, meet and fall madly, passionately in love. Fighting against a world that seems determined to keep them apart, MUSE A and MUSE B desperately try to find a way to stop the feud once and for all, before the cycle of hatred costs them their relationship, and possibly their very lives.
macbeth: MUSE A finds out that they are next in line for a very powerful position (monarch, president, CEO, whatever) and will do a fine job… as soon as their boss dies. They tell their spouse, MUSE B, about this, and how they don’t want to wait any longer than they have to. MUSE B does the sensible thing and suggests MUSE A kill their boss so they can gain the position. After some prodding, MUSE A decides to go through with it. But keeping power is much harder than gaining it, and soon MUSE A grows paranoid, terrified of losing their newfound position, while MUSE B slowly becomes overwhelmed by guilt. It soon becomes obvious that the only way to keep their power is through more bloodshed – and oh, how the blood begins to flow.
coriolanus: MUSE A and MUSE B are in a country that is torn apart by war, with no real government or ruler. The two are on seperate sides of the conflict, and both are considered the best of their respective armies. MUSE A and MUSE B frequently come to blows, and although they loathe each other, they do share a mutual respect, and both fully expect that one will one day kill the other. One day, however, MUSE A becomes disillusioned with their side of the war, and chooses to switch sides, now working with MUSE B. The two become close and work very well together, but there’s definitely growing tension between them. Both have lived almost their whole lives in combat and constant war, and both only know how to function in a world where bloodshed is the norm, but MUSE A’s family is now trying to convince them to use their position to end the conflict once and for all and come home. MUSE A is now considering the idea that they can, in fact, live with peace, while MUSE B only cares for a life in war.
twelfth night: OT3 time, y’all! MUSE A is in love with MUSE B. Or at least, they think they are. The truth is, MUSE A barely knows MUSE B, because MUSE B, still in mourning over the death of their spouse three years prior, doesn’t want anything to do with MUSE A. In desperation, MUSE A begs their coworker, MUSE C, to go over to MUSE B’s house as much as possible, to try and persuade MUSE B to give them a chance. MUSE C is hopelessly in love with MUSE A, but agrees, wanting them to be happy. MUSE C begins seeing MUSE B quite often, trying to convince them to give MUSE A at least one date, but MUSE C soon realizes that MUSE B has their eye on someone else… them!
the taming of the shrew: MUSE A is notorious for being rude, sarcastic, fiercely independent, and completely refusing to settle down and marry. MUSE B, however, has taken a bet that they can get MUSE A to fall in love with them. The two snark at each other frequently, but MUSE B won’t be daunted by MUSE A’s frequent insults, and soon, the two grow closer. It seems MUSE B may win their bet… but they didn’t anticipate genuinely loving MUSE A. As MUSE A slowly mellows out due to MUSE B’s influence, everyone is left wondering: how on earth will MUSE A react if they find out about the bet?
the tempest: MUSE A has spent their whole life living in an abandoned mansion hidden away in the middle of nowhere with their father, having come there as a baby. Incredibly sheltered and not allowed to explore the outside world, MUSE A lives in almost total isolation, with only their father and a couple servants for company. One day, however, MUSE B stumbles across the mansion, and meets MUSE A. The two fall in love, and MUSE A wishes to leave the mansion and go with MUSE B, but MUSE A’s father isn’t letting go so easily. (OPTIONAL: MUSE C is MUSE A’s father, in hiding due to a shady past, and he prefers a life of isolation and comfort to one of freedom and danger. He loves MUSE A, but is overbearing and controlling. Doesn’t have to be male.)
othello: MUSE A and MUSE B are a married couple, and while they’re very happy and they love each other a lot, MUSE A is a bit insecure in the relationship for some reason. Maybe they’re a different race than MUSE B, maybe they’re not as wealthy, maybe they’re a different religon. No matter what, MUSE A is constantly told by society that they don’t deserve MUSE B, and they can’t help but feel insecure about it. Unfortunately, that insecurity often manifests in jealousy, which is taken advantage of by MUSE C. MUSE C for whatever reason hates MUSE A with a passion, and vows to destroy them by attacking the thing they value most: their marriage. MUSE C begins sowing seeds of doubt, causing MUSE A to suspect that MUSE B is cheating on them. They’re not – MUSE B is faithful to a fault, but MUSE C is an expert at exploiting people’s flaws, especially MUSE A’s jealousy. MUSE C is determined to destroy everything MUSE A holds dear, even if it leads to MUSE B getting killed, all while playing the role of a faithful friend to the unsuspecting couple. (OPTIONAL: MUSE D is MUSE C’s spouse, and is manipulated/forced into helping with MUSE C’s plot. MUSE D, however, feels conflicted, being a close friend of MUSE B, but being too much underneath their spouse’s heel to refuse.)
