Summary: Jamie worries about the nature of his relationship with Mako. Mako is forced to confront something from his past he had been avoiding.

Excerpt:

Jamie stopped short, the sound of Mako’s labored breathing making him pause. His hurt was interrupted with concern, as he looked up to see Mako’s eyes filled with tears, and Jamie’s jaw fell open in shock.

“Roadie…?”

A shaking soapy hand came up to Mako’s brow as his face crumpled, and he turned away, breath shuddering as he became overcome with emotion. 

“No-…” Mako stammered. “No, no… Sorry, I…” 

“What’s wrong?”

Mako was silent. His throat was tight, it felt hard to breathe and his stomach was sick.

“................”

Without a word Mako headed out the side exit towards the bathroom, apparently wanting to be alone. 

Reeling in confusion, Jamie stood dumbfounded in the kitchen, unsure if he should follow or not.
