I’ve been gone from fandom for several years and heard about the anniversary so I looked in the tags and saw this post. I didn’t know who we were talking about and was trying to ask OP.
I’m being told this is a new hero called Anran. I don’t know her or any of the heroes released recently.
I thought maybe Mercy because they did that Chinese goddess costume one time, and the last few times I looked in fandom and saw skins, I thought it was D.Va or Mercy but it was Kiriko whom I am also new to.
I can see after looking up skins that even with quality going up over recent years, they’re very different, but in the moment with no context I was confused.

Yes, actually. I mean, setting aside the whole debate of canon and behind the scenes and word of god/directors saying stuff randomly on Twitter, Vico Ortiz did say “Jim, Archie, Olu, and Zheng are a polycule” and did say that if a third season happened, they wanted to make that clear.
I find it really refreshing because it’s not the perfect fantasy “everyone loves everyone” situation but a real, natural, layered dynamic like I see among my actual friends.
Kinda broke my heart when people got up in arms about OFMD “dropping” Oluwande and Jim. Just because they care about or even love each other and just because they slept together doesn’t mean later they can’t date other people, and it doesn’t mean they stopped caring the way they used to. They just fell into a new dynamic.
Also Archie and Jim immediately negotiating bedroom arrangements with Zheng because they’re coming, too, hello?? Of course Zheng Yi Sao the pirate queen would score three hotties at once.
I love Izzy Hands, and I love that the only emotion he understands is “pissed off”
If you mentioned the fact he’s in love with Ed to him he’d be so genuinely confused, and if you asked why he does everything he does for Ed he’d be like “because he’s my captain, obviously”
If you were then to point out that literally no one else does that much for their captain he’d be like “that’s because I’m the only one who does my fucking job” while completely ignoring the fact that all the random stuff he does for Ed are definitely not part of his actual job
