         nadia  had  fought.  she  had  fought  yates  hard.  she  knows  that  it’s  the  reason  she’s  still  breathing,  if  only  barely.  thankful  for  the  early  mornings  and  late  nights  spent  with  trudy,  teaching  her  how  to  defend  herself.  without  those,  the  young  girl  knew  she’d  be  long  gone  by  now.  merely  another  on  yates’s  list  of  wins.

she  hadn’t  won  this  battle  however.  gregory  had  still  taken  so  much  from  her  despite  not  taking  her  life.  eyes  shut  tightly  as  the  echoes  of  his  heavy  breathing  in  her  ear  came  back  to  her,  tears  streaming  down  her  face.  clothes  were  ripped  (  especially  her  bottom  half  ),  leaving  her  almost  completely  exposed.  blood  covered  her  tan  skin,  along  with  black  bruises  and  cuts  from  a  knife.  even  someone  without  medical  knowledge  could  see  that  she  had  lost  a  lot  of  blood.  

suddenly  alvin  was  there  and  a  coat  was  draped  over  her.  just  by  the  older  man’s  presence,  nadia  felt  more  at  ease.  things  would  be  okay  now,  she  could  sleep.
