POET, i suppose

Forgive me for lingering,

I do not know how to move on.

The emptiness, which is always there.

I had forgotten how to be a person 6 years ago, and since , I’d been simply faking it.

I felt sick with living or sick of living. Either way, a sickness associated with life.

You are the hope.

I think you are supposed to be here.

I think you were supposed to be born.

I think you are supposed to stick around, and hold onto life.

I think you should stay.

I don’t know how to stop looking at you like you’re a God.

You fade out of my life, and I have known no greater pain.

You pass right through.”

The world compels me to carry on

I want to be the thing which shines in the light.

I know it is love, because I am okay with leaving.

It hurts, god does it hurt.

But you’ve made me wonder what I might be able to do, where I might be able to go, who I might become.

You’ve loved me back to life.

I hope you know that.

I am so afraid of endings.

Please don’t go.

Please let me stay.
