BTW, a few weeks ago, a DM fan saw a report on a local TV station in Hamburg (and then mentioned this online). The report was an interview with the man who produced the show Bananas. In the interview he said that the chicken scene with Depeche Mode was actually meant for Gianna Nannini who was supposed to be filmed with chickens - but she fainted and ran away crying out of the studio into the streets of Cologne and did not come back. Depeche Mode was the next band on schedule and so they put them together with the chickens.

This is a portion of a documentary originally broadcast on August 22nd 1981 by ITV. The documentary reported on the futuristic movement outside of London. You can hear Vince Clarke in the beginning. The entire band speaks at the end. You can also see Jo Gahan in a few scenes and Dave’s mum and Dave’s house are featured. Really sweet and vintgage stuff. The live scenes at the end were filmed on June 27th, 1981 at Crocs, Rayleigh.
