"Y-your fault…? How is it your fault? Why…why were you punished? For what?" Yin was curious. "Oliver, please. Y-you can tell me. I won’t judge you, okay? You’re a good person.” 

"I-it's my f-fault....because I-I'm so w-weak..." His eye glossed over, as if remembering something; "He s-said I deserved i-it....for t-trusting you. For t-trying so h-hard to be friends w-with you..."

"Y-you’re welcome." 

"S-sorry? B-but it w-wasn't your f-fault!" His ears drooped and his eye dulled. "I-it was my f-fault...it w-was my punishment, but I t-thought....I d-didn't k-know it w-was that bad..."

Yin winced, utterly surprised by the embrace. Her body tensed at first as she glanced down at the other, her eyes starting to soften. She nodded, her shoulders relaxing a little. "I…I won’t kick you out. I…I don’t want to be alone, either…I’ve been alone for so long, and it’s been horrible.

Oliver froze as Yin hugged him back. It felt.....nice, so nice to be in her arms. She was so gentle with him...no one had ever been gentle with him, not even back before everything went wrong.

Yin carefully began wrapping the gauze around Oliver’s damaged eye, not saying a word for a few minutes. Her body was trembling as she tried holding back tears. She felt awful. She hadn’t meant to hurt him even more. 

"N-NO!"

He was panicking and screaming and crying and it was all her fault. All her damn fault. Yin carefully knelt down beside him, tears trickling down her cheeks. She still held some of the new bandage gauze in one hand as she stared at the other rabbit in alarm. 

Oliver stepped back, eyes wide and squirming like a caged animal. But then he saw her....crying? Was she crying because of him? Had he made her sad?

Yin glanced in the mirror as well, her eyes widening. She made it worse. Oh god, she only made it worse. She covered her mouth for a split second before facing Oliver. She swiftly grabbed some bandage gauze and handed it over, in fear she’d make things even worse. She turned away, hot tears stinging at her eyes. 

"M-my eye....N-no..."

"I-I know. I’m s-sorry. I’m trying to c-clean it…"

She hadn’t meant to hurt him. And his cry made her heart hurt. But this had to be done. Yin continued to tend to the wound, dabbing it with peroxide and cleaning it. It was taking a while, and the pink rabbit was patient. She’d clean it all night if she had to. 

Oliver didn't reply; he only cowered and whimpered as Yin cleaned his eye, his good eye filling with tears that rolled down his cheeks. The peroxide stung very badly (his wound was MUCH worse than he originally thought), and after a while he couldn't stop himself from crying, sniffling like a toddler.

Good. This was good. Finally, they were getting somewhere! But…ugh, that eye…

Oliver noticed the way Yin tensed as she looked at his eye and instantly cringed, ashamed. Her reaction was no surprise, after all; he was disgusting.

Oh dear. Yin stared at Oliver’s wounded eye then looked at Oliver. "Stay right here, okay? I’ll be right back." She headed down the hall, trying to remember where the medicine was placed. She moved back to the living room and entered the kitchen. She frowned, searching through the cabinets, then found what she was looking for. 

Oliver looked warily at the pink rabbit, not sure of what to do for a while. In the end, however, he gave in and turned around slowly to let Yin have a better look at his eye.
