A Sheltered Den

hello gobbolino! i have a few dishes for you - some to be lapped out of a bowl and some to be shredded to your heart's content!

curried zucchini soup (soups and stews are a great way to get your veggies in, not to mention you can lick them straight from the bowl when you're not feeling very spoon-inclined. this soup is a nice witchy-green color and has a kick of spice too!)

jackfruit pot pie or korean bbq fried jackfruit (jackfruit is a surprisingly believable vegetarian meat substitute that has a very similar consistency to pulled pork or shredded chicken. here are two recipes, one for a more homey, sleeping on a rug by the fire feel, and another to sink your teeth into and tear apart!)

honey lilac posset (for the slightly decadent witch's cat that misses familiar floral smells and would like nothing more than a comforting bowl of sweet cream and honey)

If you’re feeling a little “Meh” about your living space why not try to do something ‘Kin themed to improve it! For example:

- Have a den/nest? Spruce it up or Rebuild it, Or, if you don’t, try building one if you have the space.

- Put up curtains. Curtains can add a lot to a room. Try ones with a print that looks like your habitat, have images of your Therio/kintype on it. If you don’t want to be that obvious about it try color(s), symbols, or even a pattern that reminds you of it like scale or fur-prints You could even put up darkening panels if you like it nice and dark.

-Get a Therio/kintype-themed blanket or even a new bed set. There is no denying how nice a good blanket or comforter is. They are cozy, but they’re also a good investment, too. You can never have too many blankets! Same as the curtains above, it should be especially easy to find something in throw blanket form.

- Display a toy, statue, or picture of your Therio/kintype somewhere. Don’t have something? Make it an activity to try and acquire something! Stroll down the toy aisle of a store, go to thrift stores, have an image printed off at the library, commission an artist, or make a purchase from an online store. Or you could even try making something.

- Currently don’t have an area to display something? Make the space if you can. Acquire a new shelf or table. Clean off an area you already have, especially if all it is currently doing is collecting useless junk or garbage. If you’ve got the means to store items, try putting some things away for a bit and use the currently cleared space to put up the item(s).

- Add something new to your hoard! If you can’t do that, try rearranging what you have. Or try something drastic and completely change up what you have. Again, if you’ve got the means to store things or can acquire a place to display things, put up something completely new. Changing up how an area in your space looks can really improve how you feel about it.

- If you don’t want to or or can’t make any changes to your set up, you can simply dust your display/collection or clean around it. Cleaning alone does a lot to improve how you feel about your dwelling.

- If figures or collecting items isn’t your thing you could try other types of decor. Wall hangings, throw pillows, Mobiles, Dioramas! Any variety of item can become decor if you display it nicely. Try looking at stores that have a big home decor section in them. Kohls, Close-out stores, Hobby Lobby, ect. Look online as well! Even thrift stores can be fruitful. If you’re feeling crafty, look up DIY videos for all sorts of ideas.
