Known for her charisma and smile, the 32 years old Colombian who was the favourite to win the gold medal yesterday, once though about leaving her career behind and become a nurse after not being successfull in the high jump category, but she met her actual coach Aldo Duany who convinced her to switch to triple jump, category in wich she ostents 12 medals, including two olympic ones (silver and gold).

She has become the first Colombian to win a gold medal in atletism and the fourth Colombian to ever win a gold medal in an olympic games event.
