tbh I think often the writers and the actors dumb down the show in interviews

anyway they’re probs not going to talk about emotional incest and grooming during press but that doesn’t mean they’re not all aware of the themes of the show that they’re making

also what Harry did to Dexter was child abuse and with the right support he probably wouldn't have become a serial killer and Dexter is responsible for his own actions are two things that are true at the same time

and the same can be said of Harrison if Dexter hadn’t groomed him he probably wouldn’t have killed Ryan Foster and Harrison is responsible for his own actions are both true statements

Every single time they mention Dexter being a psychopath in the show it is immediately debunked within his actions of what he thinks a psychopath is… despite the writers saying he is one… like Dexter defining psychopathy on the absence of love and then the next episode being shown being full of it

Yeah it's confuses me what their intent is. Res explicitly says that psychopaths can't feel love or empathy then shows Dexter feeling love and empathy??
