DemiMon are meant to be based on gods, demons, and mythological creatures, but the idea behind the name is that they should look especially demonic. A lot of the early designs were honestly just, “Take a cute animal and slap some horns and bat wings on it.” The idea started as something like demonic digital pets. So: Azazel, the goat demon, and Xolotl, the axolotl-themed god of Mesoamerica.
