Biography:

Nothing says ‘Welcome Home’ like a bundle of unsolved murders. Dr. Demeter Levesque hadn’t set foot in the town since she was a child before her family moved to Manhattan due to the infamous ‘Satanic Sacrifice of Kinnakee Kansas’. Although she’d love to credit the shocking murders for her sparked curiosity in the machinations of a dark mind, the truth actually lies much closer to home.

An only child in a wealthy family, Demi wanted for nothing. She was handed the best education that Kansas could offer, and she was amiable with plenty of friends due to being exceptionally empathetic and perceptive when reading people. But there was still trouble in paradise. Her mother was addicted to narcotics, and was in and out of the young Demeter’s life. Demi would often defend her mother, make excuses for her, or try to understand her addiction in order to salvage their relationship. However it only pushed her mother further away until she finally abandoned Demi and her father when she was in high school. While most would lament over being abandoned by her parent, it instead left the young girl especially curious.

It was the push that sent her for a doctorate in psychology with a focus on criminology. Straight out of the university, she began work as a forensic psychologist with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, but more opportunities arose over the years as her achievements piled up which took her to different states across the nation. She hadn’t dared to look back a single time until she’d gotten a devastating call from her father a decade or so later.

Demeter put her life on hold once she’d heard that her father had suffered a heart attack due to a preexisting condition, and booked the first flight to Manhattan. Refusing to leave his side in his time of need, she began to look for work in the area when news of the Nox murders had reached her. His house in Manhattan was too big for him to live in alone, and Kinnakee was a much quieter town, she’d told him. Of course she left out the part about the murders, but it definitely wouldn’t have gotten him to agree to the move otherwise. Now living in the higher class area Kinnakee has to offer (with a caregiver for her father), Dr. Levesque has been hired by Kinnakee’s police department to aid in the investigation of the news breaking family murder.
