damian gives him a knowing look before snorting. “what my father doesn’t know won’t hurt him. besides, i doubt that he would even notice if i was gone. i am not exactly his priority right now.” he says, glancing down and waves his hand dismissively. a small smile tugs the corners of his mouth. “but you are welcome, richard. perhaps you could pay me back by letting me stay at your place until someone kicks drake out of my home.” he half-jokes, his distaste evident and shrugs his shoulders at his brother. “i have been looking for my mother. if she is here, i know that she won’t hesitate to take advantage of the current situation.”

damian scrunches up his nose in bafflement. he had not expected a superhero party to be more dreadful than an average boring gala in gotham. dressed in his least favorite suit, he glances around the crowded room they are in and lets out a frustrated sigh. why had he agreed to waste his time like this? he puts down his glass of water and gives his favorite family member an expectant look. “are you going on a patrol after this?" damian asks, arching an eyebrow. he had no reason to believe that his brother followed the curfew. “if you are, i am going to join you.”
