In Castlevania Lords of shadow, Gabriel finds the 7th Brotherhood scroll in the enchanted forest that talks about an interestin tree...

"The Great Dekub was once the largest and most gorgeous tree in the forest; it was so tall, that its canopy could be seen from many miles away. Some people even believed that it was alive, and that its magical power protected the forest from the attacks of dark creatures. I don't know if the legends were real, but the truth is that the Dark Lords, maybe seeing the tree as a symbol of life, cursed it with a plague that still remains alive, beneath its dead stump."

When rereading through the Brotherhood Knight scrolls, I come across a scroll that Gabriel find in the castle sewers that I never gave much thought of that might have been a possible hint about Zobek's true nature as the lord of the necromancers early on in the game:

"Situation Status : As I explicitly stated in my previous report, the condition of Wygol's sewerage system won't allow Vampires to launch an attack on the village through its old tunnels. The few entry points were sealed, and the spike trap, despite being a bit corroded, still works perfectly. To be able to cross these obstacles, any potential attackers would need help from this side. Personally, I cannot imagine a Brotherhood member helping the Dark Lords, and cannot see anyone else here, apart from some dusty bones."

There is a fallen knight scroll (#34) that you can find as Alucard in the kitchen of the castle. There are two different versions of the scroll depending on what version of the game you are playing:

"The terrible state of the pipes down here would perturb even my brother Mario. Some parts have rusted terribly, while others are covered with fungus due to the high humidity. Not all the mushrooms look good to eat either, who knows what might happen if I eat one?" (3DS version)

"My superiors demanded I search these rusty pipes to look for the corpse of a missing comrade. Apparently, he was the bearer of an important message. Sadly, all I’ve found is a scroll consumed by mold." (HD version)

While reading the city memorials from Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 on the Wiki, one of the memorials caught my attention; the Origins of the Mental Hospital:

-"This memorial was created for the construction of the city's Mental Hospital in 1902. During the foundation works for the buildings, a mass grave was discovered with thousands of skeletal remains of newborns. Until then, no one believed certain legends about the concubines of Dracula, who transformed into snakes, entered the houses of the towns around the castle, and took away the babies. Now we know those horrible legends were true. Let this memorial be a tribute to all those who lived, suffered, and died during those times of atrocity and despair."

When I read that I thought that it probably wasn't true because I wouldn't want to believe that Dracula could possibly be involved of killing babies, but mostly about him having concubines because I didn't see any enemies in the Lords of Shadow trilogy that fit that description (unless they were referring to the succubi). Until I looked through the online "Art of Castlevania - Lords of Shadow" on Scribd, where one of the creators of the game brings it up in a passage about Dracula's state of mind in Lords of Shadow 2:

"It's not a castle that feels like it's inhabited by Dracula, his minions, or his multiple wives. It represents the state of mind of Dracula. Our Dracula is not a character that feels happy with his conditions. It's like, you know, fate has made his as he is. He's not Dracula by choice. He's tired after centuries of doing evil."
