Turning her head to glare at Kay, Delphine only had the energy to give him the finger before she lay back onto the bed. She had just woken up with a massive hangover, and though the sight of Kay had initially been appreciated — he was quite good looking, after all — his comment wasn’t. Of course she was gorgeous, but was the “dead inside” comment really necessary? Groaning, she grabbed the sheets and brought them up over her face, mumbling from underneath them. “Coffee, first. Insulting you? Later.”

❝ ｡ ✩ ﾟ THE COOL drink soaked the front of his shirt as he ran in to the hottest girl in the club. and honestly it was okay, but of course he’d never admit that it was okay that she had just spilled alcohol on his pretty suede boots. roughly dusting off his shirt– he didn’t care if the drink splashed back on her. he wanted to seem angry, whenever honestly he really didn’t care much. he did care about her but at the same time it was all too much. the idea of loving someone and being theirs for the rest of forever– that’s scary.

so instead of actually facing his feelings, he scoffed and rolled his eyes before splashing his own drink all over that pretty little dress of hers. he didn’t make a scene, but he had a feeling that she would. ❝  i’d apologize, but i know that’s the wettest you’ll get tonight without me in the picture.  ❞  he said before downing the rest of what was left in his red solo cu ❝ so.. do you really want me to apologize ? ❞  he was awaiting the slap that was going to grace his cheek, but he wasn’t afraid of it. he deserved it if it happened.

she was infuriating, and sure he probably shouldn’t have got his drink on her. but those shoes were expensive and buying himself another pair wasn’t the problem. it was just that the two of them had no respect for each other anymore. he still loved her, but he knew that he had fucked that up royally. he just didn’t know how to commit– to anything. he couldn’t stay committed to the most important relationship in his life– and admittedly she was that relationship.

Gasping as Archi splashed his own drink at her, Delphine looked down at her dress with a shocked expression on her face. “That’s my favourite dress!” she shrieked, before looking back up at her ex. “What are you, a child?!”

Cheeks reddening at his words, she crossed her arms over her chest and tried to pretend said words didn’t ring true. Fuck. He had a way to make her feel things no one else could, and she hated him for it. Well, really, that wasn’t true. She was frustrated at him, angry at him, enraged by everything he did, but she still didn’t hate him, and that made everything so much worse. Especially since he had seemed to get over their relationship so easily, whereas she still couldn’t stop thinking about him and missing him. Fuck. She couldn’t fucking get over him, and what he had just said made her ache for his touch.

Glaring at him, she felt herself getting angrier by the second. Both at herself, for the way she was feeling and reacting to him, and at him, for what he had done to her. He had broken her  fucking heart, and he didn’t deserve to still be the one she pictured in her mind whenever she was getting fucked. Because, really, that was all that had happened so far. Even with the friend she’d hooked up with the other night --- a really, really hot friend she was more than lucky to have been with --- she had still thought of him. Not pictured him that time, per se, but gotten flashes of him. Of what he’d have said. Of what he’d have done. And here he was, standing in front of her, and she had no clue what to do.

“Don’t get me wrong, I love this time of the year but you know what I hate?” Brad looked at the person next to him in the store with his eyebrow raised. “Holiday shopping. I never know what to buy for each person. Giving gifts can be so hard sometimes.”

“Well, that’s just because you’ve never been shopping with me before,” Delphine stated seriously, though there was a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “Now, come on. I need details about everyone you’re buying gifts for. But not too much, please. I love shopping, but I’m afraid I don’t care that much about strangers.”

“ Well that was certainly an interesting plot twist, ” Quest mused aloud as he exited the cinema. It had been a while since he’d bothered taking the time off from work to go and have a movie night and he was surprisingly relaxed despite the fact it had been a horror movie. 

“Well,” Delphine started, crossing her arms over her chest to protect herself against the cold. “It certainly wasn’t uninteresting... Couldn’t they have made it a little bit less gory, though? It was just plain gross.”

“don’t look now…but that cutie over there is TOTALLY checking you out.” south african accent was thick with every word, dimples engraving into porcelain cheeks before turning to face the other.

Delphine had put on one of the outfits that made her look the hottest, and tended to draw in the most stares from guys, girls and non-binary folks alike. The dress was just the right amount of short, and just tight enough, revealing enough to draw attention, and yet still leaving a bit of mystery for those staring. It was white and satiny, and hugged her figure in all the right ways. Delphine had one goal and one goal only in mind that night; she was going to get laid with the hottest person in the bar. Well, second hottest. She’d be the most beautiful person there, after all.

Sitting at a table not too far from the billiard table, her chin was resting against her hand, she giggled at the joke the guy talking to her had just said, though she was only half listening. He was cute, sure, but he seemed... Nice. Not that she didn’t like nice, and not that she didn’t appreciate nice, but the guy’s overwhelming niceness just wasn’t what Delphine was looking for that night. Excusing herself, she kissed him lightly on the cheek with her clutch in one hand and her drink in the other, and turned around too quickly, slamming right into someone’s chest.

“Oh, shit. I’m so-”, she was about to apologize when she noticed that she hadn’t just bumped into anyone; she had slammed right into Archi. Not only that, but she’d covered his shirt in her drink. She panicked for a moment, not sure what she was meant to do, before she burst out laughing. "I’d apologize, but... Honestly? You’re lucky you’re getting this much attention, so you should be thanking me.”
