DELPHINE: dante, you could burst into flames before my eyes at this very table and i wouldn't flinch

DELPHINE: in fact, i wouldn't even mind lighting the match

DANTE: it's working

DANTE: for the most part

DELPHINE: for the most part?

“Nice to meet you too,” Delphine extended her hand to the other blonde. She wasn’t sure how to act, much less what to say in the presence of Lucky. Was she supposed to hate him? Treat him as a brother? Or maybe she was supposed to ignore him altogether, making things much easier. Which would have been, if her father hadn’t brought them all together for Delphine to meet the new girlfriend, Hensley. 

A sigh of relief escaped her lips as her father finally dragged Lucky outside, leaving her and Hensley standing awkwardly before each other. “So, how are you liking the night so far?” she forced out, trying her best to make small talk. 

“Okay so do we get a bottle and then go steal from the kitchens or do we get the food first and then grab the champagne? ” Delphine wondered aloud, eyeing Lorenzo. If she was going to be stuck in a room full of people she didn’t like and forced to make small talk, she would definitely make the most out of it. 

Enzo had conveniently proven himself to be quite the partner in crime, making it all the more fun to cause some ruckus that night. They’d remained friends long after her and Dante’s relationship and just to see the latter’s face fall as they sat at his table together had been enough to make her night. “You have to make a choice or I’ll manage to get both without you,” she warned teasingly, awaiting his answer. 

DANTE: yes, and she has her own to keep her occupied as well

DELPHINE: aw, you guys have your own little arrangement

DELPHINE: how quaint.

“Fine, fine.” Theo waved away her concern, promising not to bitch anymore. It was too easy to slip into a whining session, especially with Del who knew exactly how he felt. Folding his arms over his chest as she spoke, he leaned back on his heels and gave her a grin. “I guess so, but only if you promise this isn’t gonna be some sort of glittery thing. I don’t think I can pull off sparkles, and Grey would probably burn it before you got it on him.”

“Trust me, I learned my lesson with glitter and the infamous Redwood wedding of 2013,” she giggled, still unsure how she’d managed to get both of her brothers in assorted glitter vests for another boring wedding they’d been invited to. Then again, neither cared enough about the event to protest and it had all worked out in the end. At least, for her. 

“So, who’s this new pretty lady in your life? I heard I’ve been replaced by a short brunette with split ends,” Delphine commented, the last part lost on her lips as she finished up the rest of her coffee. 

GEMMA: Del?

DELPHINE: Gemma?

DANTE: uh huh

DANTE: nice try

DANTE: maybe i had a late night, hm?

DELPHINE: i would really like to believe you were working

DELPHINE: but that smirk on your face says different

DANTE: this is just my face

DELPHINE: look up

* delphine makes a face trying to imitate dante from across the table*

DELPHINE: that's what u look like

DELPHINE: all the the time, just mad and shit

DELPHINE: why u look like u about to kill someone

DELPHINE: granted u look like that all the time

“Another for the pretty lady,” Delphine signed at the bartender, nodding towards the new face sitting next to her. "So, which do you find more depressing? The god-awful music, the small talk or the absolutely horrifying sense of fashion everyone in this place seems to share?” the blonde questioned, finishing off the rest of her drink.

14. What does success look like to you?

“ Me! ”

18. What’s one food you can’t live without?

“ Viennoiseries! My time in Paris has left its marks, including a constant craving for viennoiserie, s everywhere and anywhere.” 

20. What do you find attractive in a significant other?

“Ambition and loyalty. ”

22. Are there parts of your life you have guarded? If so, why? And what could bring down those walls?

“ My personal and family life is definitely something I keep to myself. I don’t see any reason as to why my business should concern anyone else but me. As far as bringing those walls down, you’d have to work very hard for that.” 

29. If magic was real, what spell would you try to learn first?

The one where I can control objects at will. I would be able to sketch out my designs and watch them come to life without any hassle. 

34. Is there anyone you can’t forgive? If so why? Or is there anyone that can’t forgive you? And have you tried to fix things with them?

“ I would probably say Dante. When I met him, my heart was already in pieces because of Elijah. With Dante, I really thought that we were going somewhere, that maybe things weren’t meant to be with Eli and that he would make me forget. He had the money, the looks, the appeal, even my parents liked him and everything. I was really falling in love. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget, if not forgive, how he left me without a word. And I don’t think I care much to fix any of it, either.”
