PLEASE DO NOT LIKE MY STARTERS! It makes people think there are more notes on them than there are. Especially if I tag the starter with “don’t like my starter” and you do it anyways...

Also, consider this a permanent starter call! If you don’t mind being tagged in starters literally whenever, like this!

“don’t tempt me with a good time.” dylan didn’t bother to keep track of the sarcasm that was evident in titania’s tone. instead, she nodded and caressed the girl’s cheek. “there’s nothing i’d love more than to keep you here. do away with the silly troubles that come with being a person. doesn’t it sound nice to not have to use your brain?” her hand traced downward and traced down the center of titania’s chest. 

“i’ll admit that seeing the way dale salivates over you is icing on top of a very satisfying cupcake. i’m surprised he didn’t try to drag you away.” though she did try her best by dangling titania in front of him. perhaps it was a dangerous thing to do–dale was always fueled by a childish anger that only came from years of sibling rivalry. was it fair for titania to be caught in that crossfire? “it’s not up to you to enlighten me on behavioral issues. my daddy says i’m perfect just the way i am.” her free hand moved to rest on the small of the other woman’s back. “want me to show you something really cool?“

She probably should have known that even joking like that would entice Dylan. Instead, she seethed, realizing so many things she should have known. “You know, once upon a time, I thought you actually valued my intelligence. Now I feel like what you want is a doll with my face on it.” With anyone else, she might’ve smacked away the hand moving so freely across her skin but Titania didn’t doubt it would end poorly for her. “I’m glad it’s so amusing for you to think your brother probably jerks off to the idea of stealing your girl.”

“Your daddy is psychotic,” she murmured under her breath with an eye roll, arms crossed over her chest even as the familiar sensation of Dylan’s hand on her back stirred something within her. “I’m really not in the mood for one of your games, Dylan. What could you possibly have to show me?” It had been a long day and at the start of it, she had been excited to spend more time with Dylan but now all she wanted to do was be left alone until this family trip was over with.

the resistance made sense to dylan. she had more of a rational mind than her brothers–titania had every right to be upset. most were unsure if dylan could actually feel love. the same could be said about all of the wright siblings. they didn’t seem to experience normal sentimental feelings like love and empathy. was it something in their upbringing?

“hostage. i don’t like that word–it hardly captures what’s occurring here. you aren’t just a toy.” even if she didn’t love–that was a harder emotion to simply mimic–she did feel desire. she was all too familiar with it. father never shut down her impulses, only went out of his way to make sure his daughter had everything she could ever want. “you’re my favorite toy. but you are disposable. i’m not going to convince you otherwise. but doesn’t that make you even more curious as to why you’re still here, baby?” her voice was soft and affectionate. dark heeled boots moved slowly across the hardwood floor as she closed the space between the two of them.

“Just? That’s really the qualifier you want to use? I’m not just a toy?” Titania knew Dylan wasn’t so much the emotional or romantic type and initially it had intrigued her but quickly she’d figured out that wasn’t going to change no matter how attached she got. “Wow. Well in that case someone should call the government. Sell away all my possessions and put that on my personal file or something, because I’m your favorite, disposable toy. Fuck, I can’t believe I thought I could actually mean something to you.” Because of course, this wasn’t the kind of meaning she’d been anticipating. No matter how intriguing Dylan made it sound. 

“Let me guess, I’m here because you want to prove something? Or you want to show your brother you’ve got something he can’t have. Oh or maybe it’s just that you’re bored and I haven’t broken yet so I’m a good option for now. Save it, Dylan. Like I said, you’re looking for something to own, because you’re afraid you’re going to get a hold of something and one of your brothers is going to take hold. Maybe if you stopped seeing people like trophies, people would want to stick around.”

@deliirious [ REUNION ] for andie and demitri - after being separated for a lengthy time, our muses are reunited and share a kiss to mark the occasion.

Andie had definitely missed Demitri. She couldn’t really put to words what exactly they had, though she wouldn’t hesitate to call it a relationship. It’d been odd to not see him for weeks while she’d been on vacation with her brother, sister, and niece, but it had been an amazing trip. But now, she could see her boy.

“Ah, there he is…” She smiled brightly as she looked up at him. “C'mere…” She reached up to the back of his neck to pull him down to place a light kiss to his lips. “Did you miss me, hm?” she teased as she let him go as she trailed her nails along his jaw.

Waiting for Andie to return from her trip had been agonizing. Demitri had been sulking around her place rather than going home. It was much more fulfilling to make sure her space was clean when she came home rather than remembering she wasn’t back yet every time he ate alone. “You know I did.” He tried not to pout at the small kiss (Demitri refused to pout outside of very specific circumstances) and simply pushed forward for a second one. “Remind me to never let you take a long trip again,” he murmured, wrapping his arms around her waist to hold her closer.

Ady was probably a bit too drunk. But even if she wasn’t drunk, there wasn’t really anyone else that she wanted to spend time with that night other than Astrid. Of course, everyone was teasing them about how much they’d been orbiting around each other, but that was just it. They were teasing each other and playing around. At least that’s what Ady had been telling herself. Until tonight at least. She made a soft noise against Astrid’s lips before they broke apart. “You… oh…” She was flushed bright red as she looked away for a moment. “That…” She cleared her throat lightly before she looked back to Astrid and leaned back in for another kiss.

The slight hesitation following the kiss had Astrid worrying that she’d done something wrong. It was out of character for sure and they hadn’t exactly discussed it, but Astrid was sure that was where the energy was leading them, even if Ady was now blushing profusely. “I— uhh...” They were practically talking over one another, unable to get any words out. She had been on the verge of apologizing though before Ady leaned in again and it felt like there was relief in every pore of her body. She returned the kiss, lacing her fingers through Ady’s hair. “Sorry, I—” she kissed her again, “I probably should’ve asked.”

“The DJ plays what the masses like. The masses just happen to like shitty music.” She motions for Zella to follow with an amused grin on her lips. Her office is upstairs, so they navigate a door behind the bar, behind another door, and a set up stairs that lead into a much quieter room with much more comfortable seating. A couch, an office chair, a television — “Make yourself comfortable. If you want more drinks I can always call them up here, so don’t worry about manning yours to make it last.”

“i’m not going to insult your intelligence by implying that you’re wrong.” dylan liked to keep up appearances, yes. especially when it came to dangling something enticing in front of her brothers. still. dylan felt a twisting coldness settle in her stomach at the words. she was not familiar with the emotion, but if she had to give it a name, it would have been ’discomfort’. “but i find it obnoxious for you to assume my intentions are so…one-dimensional. leave if you want, it’d be a long way back home.”

calling her bluff. dylan’s family lived almost ten miles outside of town. after all, her father seemed to have the need to keep his children away from the general population.

Titania scoffed as Dylan admitted to at least showing her off. In truth, part of her enjoyed that someone would want to show her off, but that didn’t stop the irritation and the thoughts that that was all it was. “Maybe if you did literally anything to prove that assumption wrong, I’d believe you.” The reminder that they were essentially in the middle of nowhere gave her pause. “So, what? I’m just some kind of hostage here until you decide you’re done with me, or you’re willing to help me?” Titania should’ve known that agreeing to let Dylan drive her out to her family’s place would end poorly. 

anyone sensible would’ve said that the dress was too tight, but william had lost all sensibility the moment that he goaded evangeline into the boutique in the first place. his gaze roved over her reflection, from head to toe, and then swept over her backside as she gathered her hair over her shoulder. “i think the fit is perfect,” he complimented, nudging the curtain back while turning on his heel and stepping inside the cozy dressing stall. in part with the store’s vibe, the dressing room was luxe  ;  floor to ceiling mirrors surrounded them, the dimmed mood lighting refracting off golden accents made everything look better, but william had the sneaking suspicion that evangeline could’ve strutted back out into the rest of mall nude and still looked brilliant under the fluorescents. standing behind the brunette, his hands moved to her waist, slowly smoothing up her sides and indeed confirming that the fabric was practically painted on. fingertips teased along the curve of her ribcage, gaze lifted over the babysitter’s head to meet her stare in the mirror. “i don’t know how you got this on without an extra set of hands in here,” he said, exhaling a light chuckle. “are you sure you don’t want to just wear it out?” william asked, though a hand was already sliding to her back, catching the delicate zipper and slowly easing it down.

“You know staying down here isn’t really my thing.” She understands the irony; fronting a club and doing all the clean and dirty work but hating the atmosphere of it — Clarke likes the quiet. “You could always come upstairs with me if you want to have a nice talk. Unless you want to stay down here and enjoy the music. Either way, your choice.”

Oh, Clarke is as unmoving as a boulder, but that doesn’t mean Zella’s sudden proximity doesn’t make her feel some type of way. She’s not blind. Never has been. “The office… That’s how I saw you — the security cameras flickered through the bar and you looked very uncomfortable and he looked very aggressive. I wanted to make sure you were okay.”

She laughs; it’s hard to discern it with the thumping club music, but the quiet chuckle does slip through Clarke’s lips. “No. It’s the opposite problem actually. You’re unreachably beautiful and obnoxious men like polo guy want what they clearly can’t have. They all have something to prove.”

“At least a London Lemonade is a step up from —” She points to the passing waiter with a tray in hand. “— those five long island iced teas heading for that table of sorority girls with fake IDs.” She motions the bartender, it’s all she has to do, and just as quickly as she waves, Zella’s lemonade concoction is on the bar table. Clarke hands it to her carefully. “I happen to think that men don’t know how to take no for an answer and think they’re entitled to the universe.”

“Is this guy bothering you?” Clarke plays the mean card well — and looks good doing it to boot. The guy — Chad or Brad or whatever generic frat-boy name he has — takes offense, with a scoff: None of your business. “It is my business because this is my club. I don’t have to show you the door do I?” She doesn’t even have to turn and look at a security guard urging him to leave, instead she turns with an apologetic smile toward her. “You okay? You want another drink?”

“Or what? Let’s face it Dylan, you don’t want a partner, you want a toy that you can dress up and parade around in front of your family to show off.” Titania laughed but there wasn’t any humor in her tone. “I’m not sticking around to wait until you get tired of playing.”
