The journey to his new home had been so long. So draining. But Theodore had tried his damnedest to keep himself looking and feeling his best. After all, this was the moment heâd been preparing for his entire life. There was only one shot at a first impression. About an hour out, his gentleman took the time to freshen him up. Brushing his hair, applying sweet, fragrant oils to his skin, and making sure his clothing, the finest he owned, were all laying properly. Theodore mightâve been a tad vain, but he wanted to ensure he looked just like his portrait. The one that had been sent to his new husband, the king, many months ago.
Theodore was relieved when they arrived at the castle. He couldnât stop himself grinning as they pulled up, taking a peak out of the small window and getting his first look at Jax. âHeâs even more handsome in personâ, Theo mused, voice nearly inaudible. And then, the carriage came to a stop, his gent opened the door and exited, holding his hand out. Theo took his hand and emerged from the carriage, smiling and running a hand through his hair as he walked up to the king. âYour highnessâ, he cooed, lowering his head and holding his hand out to Jax.
