Disclaimer: anti-radqueers can unkindly fuck off of this one, this is not your chance.
We need to talk.
I have been watching the transharm community for a while at a distance. Heck, I watched it be born and raised - I was there when transn4zi was being debated and I was an avid supporter of transharmful and transharmed labels.
However, something NEEDS to be said about the rapid growth of the community and how it evolved into what it is today. More and more, I've seen younger (13-15yo) transharmeds and older (18+) transharmfuls sharing a space and talking about the idea of needle dating and conabuse. And don't get me wrong: as a believer of pro-contact and youthlib stances, I am ALL FOR things like that being a conversation starter. However.
I feel like people are tending to see it as just the whole conversation. I understand; it's exciting, new and all. But we need to get past that, it's been what, two years more or less?
I think we should start talking about boundaries. I think we should start talking about risks. I think this conversation should evolve and continue growing past the edgy, kinky stage that it is in now. I don't see many blogs mentioning how traumatizing young people, even with their full consent, is dangerous and needs to include safety measures. I am not against needle dating or conabuse, I am all for it - with the proper communication, safety guards, and respect for others' wellbeing, which it's not having right now. I feel like I'm one of the only radqueers that can see the risks. I need that to change.
I am NOT starting this topic to appeal to antis, to possibly leave the community, or to criticize the labels as a whole. I am not about that shit. I want to know what everyone thinks before unleashing my full thoughts on the matter, so what do you say? Don't be afraid to call me out or criticize my points, I am not scared of backlash and I genuinely want to learn.
Thank you for reading, this topic will continue to be posted about.
