SKAM ITALIA FIGHT AND SQUADS
I love the fact that even if it is a season based on a character (physically and mentally development, love interest) they always try to keep up with friendships, family and society's problems in the country.
You see, when you start to fall in love or you have a relationship that doesn't mean your life is based only on that...if so that'll be toxic...
In the og we've rarely saw the girl squad and the boy squad together (mayne on parties) but when Noora was the main character we saw so little about William friends, and I can't undestand why cause in some way they should be related at least with the girl squad cause both of the main are together... that's how it works here in Italy, everyone has their own friends but then when there's a party or you want to go and have fun we find it nice to be with your bf and your friends and "unite" the groups, even if they won't be dancing together but you're all there in the same place.
Here in skam Italia friendships is the MAIN FOCUS for everyone, cause it's good to be in a relationship but we all need friends who support us, that we can laugh, cry and get angry with...
In the 1st season I contrabbandieri di Luchini (boy squad) and I ragazzi di Villa (edo's group) had problems cause of the whole thing with Eva, so we were introduced to all 3 squads but with 3 different point of view.
In the 2nd we could see I contrabbandieri di Luchini in more of a deep way, understanding the amazing friendship those guys have...those boys would kill for the others and then we had the Girl squad from Martino's view where they called eachother, they were doing project together and did silly things etc... we didn't saw the guys form Villa's cause it had nothing to do with Martino.
And now in the 3rd season we can clearly see all the 3 squads, cause Eleonora have a close relationship with her squad, with the boy squad (even more thanks to his brother) and with The Villa cause of Edo being his bf, thanks to all of that many time we can see them together, maybe not talking or laughing but at least in the same room, and they all have scenes where we can have a glimpse of them so thanks to that we already know 2 of them amazingly well and now we can learn more of I ragazzi di Villa (Edo's squad) that in the past we used to know as "spoiled, rich, womanizers, chaotic, aggressive guys" when in the reality they're guys who have 19 years old, they wanna have fun, they have sex but they also seems very chaotic, crazy guys who are willing to fight when they see an injustice (maybe they do it in a wrong way, maybe they make some mistakes, but they are teenagers and in the end of the day they're not killing anyone, they will learn from their errors like anyone else).
The fight scene was very different cause we are seeing it from Eleonora's point of view...she follows her bf outside and see the 2 boy squads united cause some Homophobic pricks fought Martino for the 2nd time...I would like to have you all appreciate how for the 2nd time I ragazzi di Villa went all out for Martino even tho they could have stayed away or how Elia went to them without hesitation for help cause he knew that here in Italy we could had a fight in the past or whatever but we are all very passive-aggressive so we don't let people fight against our beliefs...(it can be wrong or right)
Elia went to Federico, Edoardo saw their faces and got there in 0.1 seconds, and right after that Chicco was behind them, all of them didn't need to think twice, they needed to act rapidly cause Martino was being hurted by assholes, it seems like the guys have this relationship where "if you hurt one of us we'll fight you" and that's how friendships are built...maybe growing up they will find better ways to fight pricks but now they just thinks about protect eachother...
Back in the 2st episode of season 3 Edoardo was told to have taken part in another "fight" where he almost broke a guy's nose but guess what... he did it cause his friend's girlfriend was being called "a bitch" cause she refused a guy...
Now even here was clear how Edoardo tried his best to not fight, he was even pulled down but right after that Federico went to him cause he saw his bestfriend on the street and ended up with him "saving" Edo and having a fight with the Homophobic ass and you can clearly hear him calling out "Edo, Edo" cause the guy was kicking him and hurting him, it was in that moment Edoardo became furious, they were hurting his "brother" so he did the first thing it came into his mind to protect him... That explain more of their personalities and friendship.
Right before that moment we had a glimpse of Gio reaching out for Martino, looking out for him and what they had done to his face until Luchino came and took away Martino who was shoved away from Gio trying to keep him safe, right after Gio went straight to the guy who has hurted Martino telling him "I'm gonna kill you, I'm gonna fuck you up", Elia instead had tried to make the guys go away by speaking but it didn't work so he became aggressive too...
The girls instead went out straight even if they risked cause they're friends, they needed to know what was happening... Those are the important parts in Skam Italia.
We all know those guys wouldn't hurt anyone, they weren't the one looking for fights, none of them, they were just having fun and they reacted instinctively when they saw for the 2nd time the same guys, stalking them and put up a fight, believe me violence is never the right choice, but when you're young and you see your "family" being discriminated and attacked you can't just stand there and speak to them more so if they are aggressive (even more if the reason is sexuality or feminism).
All of this to explain you "why there are so much of other characters pov?! Why didn't we get more kisses from Incantava?" All of this scene give us a glimpse of what is important in their life beside the couple... they make us understand the characters, their emotions and lifes, and more explain us why those things happened, why the fight broke down, guys we're not talking about boys being drunk, stupid and shoving chairs, we're talking about boys coming together to fight against discrimination, but all of this needs to have some past references, it can't just happens, that's why there are many scenes of the squads.
Skam Italia is trying to not only tell Incantava story, but Italian society, the way we live, we see our friendships and family...and if you don't like it, if you're only here cause of kisses and romance you should go and watch something else, cause Skam Italia is reality not some drama-rom-com...
Skam is about telling a story in the most honest and raw way, and that's what Italy is doing...life is not all love, kisses and romance, life is about emotions, friends, romance, battles, faults and growth... none is perfect and you should learn that this applies to everyone...those guys aren't serial killers, those guys are dickheads who needs to be put in their places, who needs to fail and learn not to be put on a guillotine.
Love can be found in a couple, friends, family, animals, nature, selflove etc... life is about respect, growth, learn, passion and love.
