This was a pivotal moment in their friedship. Where Bakugou thought Izuku offering his hand meant that he thought Bakugou was weak. From here on, Bakugou never wanted to accept help because he thought that made him weak or that others saw him this way. Beyond this, it was the start of their strained relationship.

one of my favorite things to read for bkdk is when the author perfectly captures the energy of “ive known you all of my life. i know your speech patterns, i know your body language, i could probably finish your sentences. i know you in the dark, i still don’t understand you.”
i do love endeavor but mr all might there is a difference between a prepubescent child bullying another child for not understanding things that cant be controlled and a grown ass man abusing his family to overtake a celebrity status through eugenics

If you’re willing to feel it, you can heal it
There’s been some posts recently about the name Kacchan and just how special it is etc etc, and I’m just remembering:
This panel, which is just a list of all the reasons as to why Midoriya ran out during the slug monster incident. And just
Kacchan.
Just that.
Not just, Bakugou Katuski, childhood friend. Because there’s just so much to that name. There’s so much history, but also who Bakugou is as a person, and how cool he is, and what he means to Midoriya, both as a person and as an old friend. Kacchan just encapsulates so much - the fact that Midoriya still thinks of Bakugou like that even though no one else calls him that anymore? It’s…something else, isn’t it? And when you first read/see it, it’s just someone’s name, just Bakugou. But after reading it all and knowing so much more about them and what Bakugou means to Midoriya, it’s just…there’s just so much weight to that word when Midoriya says it
Idk about the rest of you but when i first read/watched this series, I completely ignored that little bit, cause I hated Bakugou and his relationship with Midoriya at first! But even then, you can’t deny just how important Kacchan is to Midoriya
After the sludge incident “Kacchan” was added another layer of meaning. It was the reason he got his quirk. This person was the reason he was able to live towards his dream that even All Might thought was impossible.
Deku’s dream started with All Might and he let go of that because of All Might’s words too. But it gained a new beginning because of Kacchan.
Yesssssssssssssss oh my god. It could have started and ended with All Might but Bakugou continued it for him TT_TT How does it feel to be living with permanent galaxy brain???
I know some people think that it’s wrong to say Bakugou is THE reason for the quirk but…he got it because of the sludge monster incident, and Kacchan is literally one of the reasons listed! Yeah yeah, it could have been anyone, but it wasn’t. It was Kacchan. Like obviously he wasn’t the sole reason, but he was kinda necessary, ngl
I literally live for your takes TT_TT Really though, aside from All Might, no one will ever have as profound an effect on Midoriya and his dreams as Kacchan does
it was definitely deku’s heroic instinct that made All Might give him ofa BUT he didn’t start running towards the villian until he saw it was kacchan. im not saying he wouldn’t have done it for anybody else but his hesitance was clear. As soon he saw kacchan he was like “fuk da police”

We see that Midoriya thought about the incredible pain this middle schooler must be in! Because he knew it personally! From like, 15 minutes ago! But, he just begs them to hold on; that wasn’t enough to inspire him to move. We all know what the next panels are: Midoriya sees Bakugou’s face, and he rushes out without thinking. Idk I mean I missed it on my first read through tbh but it’s because it was Kacchan than he was able to move. Also something we don’t talk about is just how super illegal this was, and how he definitely wasn’t going to break the entire law that was put into place because their society was traumatized by the chaos that quirks put them through, not when he’d been told all his life he couldn’t do anything anyway. But often throughout the rest of the story, and here, we see Kacchan is the tipping point that pushes him past any and all limits, particularly when these limits are internalized beliefs
SORRY for the rant, I was inspired by something else I saw and I needed this out in the universe TT_TT These boys are wonderful and deserve all the analysis and investment
