i like Carl being Yoda cause he is kinda like Yoda if you replace the Force with loser chud energy and his wisdom with knowledge of every movie known to man
i'm sorry i'm still fucking thinking about mixtape's music selection. what do you mean this game is nebulously in the 90s and ostensibly about music but like 95% of the tracks are from the 60-80s. and the one "metal" track these so-called metalheads listen to is fucking Rainbow. in the 90s???? there isn't a single ska or punk track these NoCal small-town skaters listen to? we're gonna have a diatribe on a track from the animated transformers movie but we can't afford a coolio track? THIS GAME SET IN THE 1990S DOESN'T HAVE A SINGLE GRUNGE MENTION???????
the game is set in the 90???
this is layered ironic fake nostalgia bull that is hurting not just the gaming industry but the movie industry as well
this "indie 'game'" was made by someone who was loaded and probably never owned a skateboard
i once saw someone posit that this game was probably made to capitalize on 80s nostalgia but because stranger things bombed that made it financially risky. so they went for a 90s take on a john hughes movie. this is of course hearsay but DAMN you can really see that vibe.
that's probably why it looks like it doesn't know what it wants to be. at first glance the art direction gave me the impression that it was inspired by life is strange, but none of the choices have any real consequences, in fact you don't even need to press the buttons half the time so it's not really much of a game. the music doesn't really feel like something i'd hear in a john hughes movie either.
and if they were going for a movie story it feels like the music carries most of the feelings evoked rather than narrative but maybe i'm wrong. i just can't tell who it's made for and if it has a lesson to be learned (aside from it being okay to threaten your cop dad)
here's my biggest complaint about the gameplay of mixtape. beyond it requiring less input than a gacha vn. why was this not a rhythm game. like there's no further justification i need, right??? like it could be one of those pseudo-rhythm games like no straight roads where you don't HAVE to be on beat but it would certainly HELP IF YOU WERE. instead we have cannes 2026's rejected 6/10.
see THAT would have made more sense especially since it is mostly driven by copyrighted music
to me it feels like there isn't enough to do overall
maybe the skateboarding could match the rhythm and pressing the wrong button makes you fall, sorry if that was a little sidetracked but my mind is so bored of this game trope that it looks for any way to make it more interactive
this game of the year bait gets a 10/10 from ign and doesn't even have a toilet flush mechanic. i would not be surprised if it gets the fallout 4 treatment at the game awards

don't get mixtape it's an industry plant pretending to be an indie game when it's a barely interactive movie by a rich girl who's daddy gave her the money to fund this pretend game
and all the game reviews are made by ai it's incredibly telling

imagine 10 years ago telling someone that disney would come out with a movie all about a mandalorian and everyone was so uninterested in it that it bombed
Imagine telling someone 10 years ago that the Family Guy Star War's episodes are still discussed and thriving, and one of the most critically renowned episodes of Family Guy ever and they would agree.
Those episodes are actually my first real taste of Family Guy.
That and the Robot Chicken episodes of Star Wars are core memories of my childhood while I would play Star Wars: Battlefront II on my PSP late at night while my parents were asleep.
How do you feel about the Star Wars episodes? They're some of my favorite
I love them I just posted about them But i've never seen the source movies.
I recommend watching 4, 5, then 6 then if you really want to go back and watch 1, 2, and 3 and then going back to see The Clone Wars animated TV show.
Everything else is optional.
Except for maybe Andor and Rogue one if you like more elevated sci-fi.
Don't watch the sequels.
This seems like a crashout post LMAO
this is mostly for me to put movie opinions and meet fans of star wars, star trek, family guy (even though i don't really watch it that much now) and whatever people like to fixate on
i also really like space ghost
