Maybe it's her russian upbringing, maybe it's the way I build her character to be both tough, resiliant and on the other side sweet and sheltered.

For me, she is the true embodiment of a survivior. At some points in her life she could have given up and was actually very close to do just that, but something pulled her back. She actually shares some similiarities with Tommy in that aspect of their persona, because she feels like she has a higher calling in life and she clings onto that very tightly to the point where it starts hurting her.

When we first see her, she seems very unbothered by everything and John takes a liking in that, but she is hard to put in just one box. Yes, she seems like a barbie, and she is very fun, wild and joyful. At the same time she is also calculating, cold even and a bit of a know it all.

Johnny boy! Oh my god, I could say a million things about this character and I wouldn't have said enough.

Gonna try anyways tho.

I have to admit for my first watch of the show I was a Tommy girl like most of us were, but then I started working on "By the order of the peaky blinders" with @justalonelyslytherin back in 2018 and funny enough, I started with an OC from another person paired with John and completely made it my own.

After that I rewatched the show mutiple times and I grew more fond of John Shelby with every watch. Joe Cole's portrayal of John was impeccable and I really bonded with the character in a way, that's still so very special to me.

For me, he is in a constant struggle between loyalty and rebellion. While he shows a lot of respect for Polly and Tommy, he does want parts of his life to just be his own without his families interferences. On the other hand, he feels this huge injustice growing up poor and how the working class people constantly get screwed up by somebody with more power and money. Tommy wants and seekes this power to himself, but John on the other hand wants to wreck the system that has set him up for failure time and time again.

He was told due to his upbringing he wouldn't make it far in life and he partially believes that. Inheriantly he struggles with self worth and finds identity in non-conformity.

Well, he does going to give off a Roderick Heffley vibe in this AU, but while Roderick is somewhat of a Loser, John is not, he just isn't able to see what he can do just yet. He has a lot of growing up to do, more than some of the other characters and he blames himself more than he probably has to. This shame and guilt holds him back quite often.

However he starts to change when he meets a certain russian girl. For the first time, he doesn't ask himself, wether he is good enough, he just enjoys time as it is, while simulaniously grieving the loss of the right path and the wretchedness of world he stepped into.

John hides into drinking and partying and driving his bike a lot. But he also shows up everytime his family needs him, because he thinks he owes it to them.

Victoria Hall - OC 00s!au

If she not wears her hair open, she has it in a lose ponytail or messy bun, mostly when she is reading/studying and needs her hair out of her face

Crisps flavour:  scampi 'n lemon or spicy -Like she won't touch crisps if it's not with a sandwich together and especially not of there is chocolate as a different option

Usually tends to sweets like Galaxy or Dairy Milk, has to be chocolate

She smells of a sharp trace of disinfectant softened by her favourite hand cream, with faint undertones of her shampoo and the fabric softener her parents use — a scent that lingers only when she’s had a rare day away from the hospital

It's funny how we pavloved ourselves into this whole world way to much and now I see phlato green and I think of Vicky. It's a lot of random stuff, but all these details really bring the story to life.

We researched a lot for this story and the trivia bits were just a little gimmick we thought all could enjoy. Actually I was very close to buying some of the lynx bottles online, because I wanted to smell them so bad! However through the story, there is going to be a lot of pop culture references but also like lots of love in the details. Like figuring out Vicky's shifts and which hospital she probably worked at.

I think its amazing to see a character like Vicky in the constallation of this friend group, because she kindof is the rational mom friend and very nuturing to everybody, but she is also just as silly, especially paired with Ada or her sister Alenya or Dascha.

Seeing her supporting Tommy and his family without getting involved into the business is actually very refreshing to me, because I do see a lot of stories, where the women around Tommy get pulled in and it happens on the show quite often too.

And usually those characters who don't get pulled into the business are very sheltered in a way, which I don't like at all. But Vicky is actually none of that. She is a harsh realist and can put her foot down if needed, but also she is quite capable on her own. Her strength lies in her softness most of the time and yet she is far from everything sugar and nice.

Collects burned films, mostly passed on from Freddie

Starts to develop an interest in photography around this time

Shaves every single day, won’t leave the house otherwise

Well, Tommy of course being one of the main characters of this story, was very central to our ideas right from the beginning. We wanted to create a version of him, where he is less bothered by his circumstances, without making everything too overly positive.

Of course his family is still chaotic and a nightmare to manage for him, but he also has his friends with him. He tries to find a way to navigate his life, without becoming like his father... or his mother for all that matters.

He is going to have such a unique dynamic with all of the other characters in the group, especially Vicky and Freddie, of course, but I really liked to explore the relationship with John in the first part.

Tommy sort of starts of as an underdog character like in the series using his wits and creativity to climb up the social ladder. Of course he is going to meet some mean fellows on the way. Some will be familiar others are going to be new additions for this AU.

What I really deem interesting is his developement within the family, because they start out as almost even and Tommy shoves more and more responsibilties on his back, because he want to protect his younger siblings from the pain he felt in his childhood.

Not saying, he didn't have any good moments in his childhood, but growing up poor working class with criminal parents, it really does take a toll on him and the others, but since he was his mother's favorite, he is always a little more parentified than Arthur, John or Ada.

It's not too far off to say, that Finn actually looks up to him like a father figure and Tommy really seems to try to fulfill this role, but he is still young and inexperienced, so yeah, he is going to fall and tumble and he is going through a lot. However it will be incredibly interesting to follow. Especially in the beginning he has some tough choices to make.

The focus of the first part is still going to be a soft entrance into this world. It's joyful and innocent in its own ways, showing the fuckup of newly adults. I'm so stocked and can't wait for all of you to read it.

Thinking about how the Cody boys notice the new girl at one of their parties. and they all try their charms on you.

Baz is first, offering to get you a drink. You shake your head. Not interested. You're not stupid, know he has a girlfriend. You have no interest in being the other woman.

Craig tries to impress you by jumping off the roof and into the pool. You frown as his entrance causes the pool water to splash onto your new bikini. You just roll you eyes and smooth your hair down.

Even J tries. He's way too young for you. Still got his baby face.

The boys are confused. This has never happened before. All of them getting turned down. How the fuck did this pretty little thing even know to come to the party if you're not trying to hook up with one of them.

They watch from the kitchen as you finally stand up from the sun lounger. Watch the soft bounce of your breasts against your bikini as you walk into the house. You suck in your lower lip before your whole face lights up. You all but run into the den where the eldest Cody boy is sitting nursing a whiskey.

Pope's arm is stretched across the back of the couch. You curl your whole body into him, pulling your feet under you as you cuddle into him. You stretch up to kiss him before resting your head on his chest. His hand moves then to wrap around you, slowly dragging his fingers up and down your arm.

The brother who Baz had snarled that no one would have a kid with. The brother they all thought was just a bit off-kilter. The brother they all thought would never get a woman to dote on him.

He is just baby boy in this one and I'm all here for it. Oh my, just to think about it, how much he will grow and change in this story to become the Tommy we know from the original show (but less fucked up) will be one hell of a ride.
