A slight deviation from the sounds you've received so far: This is Phrixus Vol. II. As a close friend of mine, I'd be promoting this upcoming release even if I wasn't entirely keen on it, however it's safe to say he's done it again. Combining his Hip Hop influences with a slight twist, reminiscent of Dirtybird Records, Ben Broughton delivers yet more smooth and powerful booty basslines and funky rhythms, and this time featuring a remix from another local producer, The Alley Cat (or Mörtenz), who's work is definitely worth checking out. Available for free download on the 9th of December guys, get ready.

I may have found a perfect album. There is a perfect range of genres and styles, including deep and dark techno, ambience, house, and little hip hop one-offs, and it's all by one artist. SCNTST has recently emerged as an inordinately talented producer despite him being around for over 2 years. This recent release on Boynoize Records is utterly beautiful in every sense, and as opulent as this track is, it's not the best on the album by any means, it's just the best I could find from the album on Soundcloud. Well worth the money.

Local boy Joe Richards, possibly more commonly known as DETUNE, has unsurprisingly managed to land a release through Italian record label 'IMPETO Records', who, although fairly recently created, have already flung out EPs from Zakhari, canvas and Euskalraver. Sticking to what he's good at, Scrubb has come out with yet another deep techno stomper, adding atmosphere with dark and crunchy synth stabs and a grumbling bass. Unfortunately there's no indication of a release date for this banger but I'll be sure to let you know.

I am in absolute awe of this EP. This dream collaboration from Blawan and his hero, Surgeon, has proven to be a lethal combination, and apparently difficult to get your hands on. If I had to chose a favourite track from Trades only EP, I'd be stuck between 'Half Nelson' and 'Positive Neckline'. These weird and wonderful industrial sounds, slowly evolving textures and rhythms emerging over and under huge rolling kicks are enough to get anyone in to techno. It's a 10/10 from me, if only I could find a digital version of it.

Released only last week, the owner of Alura Records returns with another mental 160 footwork EP which continues to sound completely diverse to any other music from the area. Normally I'm not a fan of footwork but Crypticz' track 'TEK' is nearly converting me and I still don't know why. If you're looking for something different but still bangin, I completely recommend this EP, and it's a free download so why not!
