This update includes; psychological horror, blood, eyestrain in the form of a GIF and panic.
Ross continued to tread through the forest. Ears perked up listening. Wondering where the sound is coming from. Eventually he stops jogging and continues at a slow walking pace and is calm...
He steps on something soft that squelches.
It's gooey, its very warm and it sticks to his shoe. But most importantly it smells. It smells awful. And it vaugley moves.
The boy stumbles backwards, violently shaking it off of his foot as he crawls away from it. Questions flying through his head as he does.
Why is there flesh? Why does it sound like it's breathing, why does the breathing sound like it's coming from it? Why is it so soft that it sticks to you? Why does it smell so bad. Why is it in the ground. Goes it keep going underground? What is it from? Is it a creature? Is it alive?
There's so many questions and he doesn't know what to process and answer so he simply stops. He stays lying down on the ground staring at it. And he shakes. He shudders. Because whatever in front of him is disgusting and writhing and could not possibly be a creation under god's plan so it scares him.
But it's not hurting him. So it slowly stops scaring him. And curiosity slowly starts creeping up on him.
Is it really flesh or is it a fungi that's just... like flesh? That. That has to be it there's no way it can be flesh right. Fungi can smell awful and breathe it's got to be that.
But there's only one way to find out.
And to find out is to check if it bleeds.
And by god. It bleeds. It's blood runs red with the warmth of being alive. And it doesn't react. How could something not react with a huge claw gash in it?
It's not a small patch of flesh.
And it's simply underneath.
Covered by centuries of dirt and fauna.
This scratch is merely less than a pimple to it.
It's alive. It bleeds. It breathes. It's large and it's underneath the forest. It's underneath the camp. It's definantly underneath the lodge...
ROSS: "What the fuck have I found."
