"Hello Moonbeam... free tonight, I see." Gwen appears like she always does- in a swirl of mist and the light shifting of silk. There is a basket over her arm, as there often is when she visits him on the more secluded open spaces in Targon (how she can always find him is a mystery) and a shawl over her shoulders. Settling on the grass beside him, she raises a hand to the sky and the full, gleaming moon, and adds: "Hello, to you as well Alune!"
Of course she knows that's not where the other young woman is, but it makes her feel better to have somewhere to direct her greeting. Setting the basket between them, her head settles heavily against Aphelios's shoulder, and she rummages in her pockets before finally withdrawing something small and slim. "I found a book you might enjoy- shall I read it aloud?"
Rare-- nights like these... having time for himself without a worry of any ambushes. For the most part, at least. He had planned this meeting for months, and finally seeing it come to fruition means the world to him. The moon and stars, may his Mother protect them both in her light.
Walking down a wooded path, Aphelios comes across his companion sat by a tree near a small lake. The night is young, with tiny lights sprinkled throughout the sky, and the moon's light douses him with a serene calm. But seeing Gwen bathed in her light-- a porcelain doll. Perfect in every way. It doesn't take long for his chest to swell with something not too familiar. A sense of giddy anxiety. Hard to explain, even to his own thoughts. As if these thoughts and feelings are foreign to him. There is something about her that brings a sense of joy. Happiness. Security.
He approaches Gwen with a wavering grin. Muscles rarely used, but at least with the cover of night, his nerves are hidden.
... Moonbeam? He quirked his head slightly. Never been called that before. His lips slowly lifted into a smirk as he huffed through his nose. A gentle heat rose to his face, painting his cheeks a soft rose.
Addressing Alune as well made his grin wider, revealing rows of pearly white teeth.
Before sitting down next to Gwen on the blanket, Aphelios removed his wool cloak and draped it around her shoulders. It wasn't much, but it's what he had to make her more comfortable.
He waved a hand in front of his face, swirling each finger into his thumb like a wave. Doesn't matter, day or night, she is beautiful. Especially in his Mother's light.
As he settled onto the blanket, Gwen placed her head on his shoulder. Sending an uncomfortable tingling in the pit of his stomach. It's a rare feeling-- but it's a good one.
He glanced down at the book Gwen brought out. A small, thin, hard cover, seemingly no details on the cover. Aphelios nodded. He could never tire of her voice. If only he could do the same for her.
