There's A Universe In Us All

Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the ‘normal people’ as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like ‘Have a nice day’ and 'Weather’s awful today, eh?’, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like 'Tell me something that makes you cry’ or 'What do you think deja vu is for?’. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others.

Wander through the forest, climb a mountain, or walk through a valley of green fields. What you will not find, is an uproar or disquietude of nature. What you will but find, is a tranquility of the ground you stand upon, a breeze of harmony and a self-contained arrangement of all plants. And that will be the moment your senses will realize: men are not organized, but the cycle of nature is.

You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.

The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars.

Chaos. We think of loud destructive crashes whirlwinds and disasters playing Death along their paths homes broken from all their grandeur dust choking people who try to grasp last words rather than air. Could you imagine that chaos is silent? So quiet that you could hear time passing by with every moment that relays emptiness in your ears to a point where you realize there is so much bigness that surrounds you that the laws of physics dictate that one of you must collapse into the other. Could you imagine that chaos is calm? Like waves that lap over one another drowning the problems down under until you can only feel the light from the horizon and everything bad is buried underneath your skin. Could you imagine that chaos can exist in a body? Because the only time you have every felt so ruptured was when Chaos stirred up a storm where safety should have been: his arms her cheeks their lips safety felt like a promise in these nooks that you believed were something like a home. Could you imagine that chaos can tear down houses and families and friends and lovers and happiness without breaking any bones? Could you imagine that chaos comes in people who leave it behind when they decide it is time for them to go?

She’s a mess of gorgeous chaos and you can see it in her eyes.

If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write, because our culture has no use for it. The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say.

“They told me to pour my heart into everything I do. So that’s what I did, I poured and poured and poured. Now they ask me why I’m so empty.”

I poured everything I had into you and you still wanted more. I had nothing else so you moved onto better things. it took me years and years to love myself since then, but you not wanting me made me realize I was the better things and you just couldn’t see it.

Sometimes I think of putting my feelings into words and handing them to you in a notebook. Then I remember your feelings are not the same as mine, so I just keep them to myself.

Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.
