Hey everybody

So just in case you're wondering what why things have been so quiet in our camp, I thought I'd write a note and explain a bit.

The gist of it is, my wife and I had a baby this summer.  He rules.  After our run of shows in February, I told the guys I needed a break because I had no idea what being a dad was going to be like (it rules).  They were kind of in agreement that it needed to happen, and a few of them were also feeling the need to focus on other life priorities.  

So we together decided to take a break and not set a hard "end date" to that break, but to just take up the conversation again this fall and see where everybody is at and what we should/could do.  That conversation has been happening.  At the moment no conclusions have yet been reached, and we've remained inactive, but it's safe to say there is still a lot of interest in keeping this band going.  I am writing new material, but as of yet most of the logistics are TBD.  I guess more than anything I just wanted to let you guys know we're not dead. 

For those of you who are really into us, I hope that's not toying with your heart to hold it so lightly.  It's just kind of how we've always rolled as a non-full-time band.  Some seasons God provides time and resources and members to play shows and write music, and some seasons he has us do other things.  It's not very good for hype or marketing, and part of me does wish we all had clones who could live the full-time touring lifestyle.  But you gotta admit that the way we do it is pretty awesome for sanity and balance.  

So yeah...if you want us to do more stuff, probably the best thing is to pray for provision and direction. 

Oh also, I'm running a break-out session at Unified Underground in a couple weeks, and a couple debtor guys will be at the conference. hope to catch you there!
