I flew to OHare and played some drums with The Satire at Audiofeed Festival. So...hot... Here are some photos. I never take enough photos.
1) Us live on stage. Byron is a sex robot.
2) On a 43 year voyage for wisdom. I found one.
3) That was my setlist. I don’t even know the names of the songs yet.
4) That was me on google maps. I have no idea where we were.
5) Sanctuary tent provided zero sanctuary from the heat. 91* at 2pm when we played.
7) Me, Greg Locke looking at his phone, Jesse Hawley looking like a lead vocalist, Sid Duffour looking like...how Sid looks all the time.
8) Library Studios, Chicago
9) Flight home. I’ll have a ginger ale, a whiskey and a whiskey.
So I got to play Jim Chaffin’s DW Designer Series kit. (Pic below). Jim used to play with the Satire and plays in the Blamed with these ding dongs. Beautiful all-maple black-matte kit (12,16,22) with Zildjian 13"A New Beat hi hats, A Medium crash 17”, A Custom crash 18”, A medium ride 20" and a Sabian Pro Sonix 16" China. Sounded amazing. Felt fantastic. Much good to be said about DW. Also stuck with that Crush snare drum. I think I’ve found my “Chicago set-up”. (#8of2019, 7/6/19)
