Kai and Takao Kissing! My plan was to color the whole thing with alcohol markers, but I ran into a lot of difficulties since I didn't have all the colors I needed. Poor Tyson had to get his skin painted over a few times with Posca markers before I could get him to look okay. Thus, this ended up being a mix of alchohol markers and acrylic paint markers. Lately I've been considering who my all-time OTP is. This is a hard choice, because I jump from series to series and tend to forget about whatever isn't my current focus. Kai and Tyson being the main characters of my all-time favorite series makes them very likely candidates.

In "G Revolution," the Bega arc wasn't only about overall growth; it was about maturity, self-realization, and a strong sense of coming back to where you belong (home). This is particularly strong for Kai. After his humiliating loss to Brooklyn, Kai became super depressed. He was roaming around aimlessly until he got his beyblade which was utterly destroyed back in a new shape, which Takao put near Yuriy's pillow. Kai's eyes were once again shining with that familiar glint after getting his blade back. He had a purpose again, he had a lifeline again. He was given a chance again. But Kai took it. This speaks a lot about his character growth. It was like an echo of s1. After Kai discarded dranzer in s1 it was Takao who returned it to him. In this season too it was Takao who was waiting and expectant, hoping Kai would come back. ( Home)

Takao's refusal to name that fifth mysterious blader who would fight Bega reflected his implicit feelings and expectations. He never let go of Kai, even after Kai switched teams again. Takao's extended hand and mysterious belief gave Kai back his ambition, his purpose, and his fire.

After the team's loss, Takao wasn't the only one burning with determination. He didn't know that his efforts and feelings had been acknowledged.

Kai after getting that blade back practised like crazy. Kai was burning too. Both practiced hard until Takao launched one last time, and his blade was sent back. Kai appeared.

This was yet another one of those intensely silent moments. Takao was actually planning to play two matches while secretly hoping that, despite Kai's pride and his determination to battle Takao, he would support Takao when he faltered.

In pursuit of strength and his goals Kai becomes blind to everything else, but after realizing his mistakes he does his best to make amends. Kai who is independent strong always ends up returning to Takao who always waits for Kai.

And was rewarded in the end when Kai appeared. There were no dialogues or accusations of blame, just silence and staring; words weren't needed. Such is the bond between them.

Between both of them Takao has always been the home Kai returns to.

Kai Hiwatari is the famous character of the legendary anime series Beyblade. Like so many of you, I'm also one of those 90s kids who grew up being highly obsessed with this show. And honestly I still am and I guess I always will be... KAI is my all time favorite beyblader! His destructive beyblade with the fierce bit-beast Dranzer and his cool yet fiery style never failed to mesmerize me. His cold stares, quiet strength left such a lasting impression on me. Anyone who watched this show would admit that there was something so magnetic about his presence, something that made him totally unforgettable. So after all these years I tried to recreate one of my childhood heroes in my own way.
