Oh I’m not denying that. And, for that matter, a lot of the characters, whether through their actions or inaction(example: masaomi who chose to run away instead of be there for his friend) helped contribute to Mikado’s formation. But ultimately, Mikado kept letting himself go down that path, even when Izaya didn’t get involved. Nobody is alone in the blame and Mikado is certainly not blameless. And heck, most of the people who actually SHOULD have been there to “help” Mikado wasn’t even truly there for him for the majority of the series.
