Death by Designs

So yea.. Life.

Life has been kicking my ass here recently. And not in a good way either. It has literally been bending me over and effing me in the A if you know what I mean.

I haven't been able to get my jeep fixed, haven't been able to get a car because I don't have the money or the credit to get a loan, and I have to move by the end of the month... I am beyond stressed out.

Not to mention because I don't have my own ride to and from work, I haven't been able to work my full time hours at work, so my paychecks look like shit.. and I'm supposed to move out and live on part time paychecks? Ha yea right..

On the bright side I now finally have a boyfriend that makes me happier than I have ever been! Unfortunately, he's stationed in Korea of all places... and when he gets to come back to the states, he'll be in Oklahoma ... 3 states away from me.. a 16 hour drive if I even want to go see him.. gotta love dating a man in the army ha..

At least I still have art going well for me right?... I've started making tattoo designs for me and my boyfriend. He's in love with them. They're not too shabby if I do say so myself. I'll be sharing them later on. Remember when I said my art style changes with my mood.. yeah, you'll be able to tell what my mood is when you see these. Not to mention the other art pieces I'll be sharing that he hasn't seen.

To anyone who actually reads my blogs, and to anyone in the future who may read this:

Life is hard. Life will throw you all sorts of curve balls. But don't ever think that the end is near, because it's not. Always keep your head up. There's a silver lining somewhere, you just have to keep looking. The sun will shine again. Art is my escape, and it always will be. Find yours, and it will help, I promise. :)

I know that the world is crashing down on me extremely hard right now, and that it feels like nothing is ever going to go right, but as long as I have my kids, my family, and my boyfriend by my side, nothing will make me falter. I'll stand my ground. (My favorite line from A Day to Remember! -If you've never listened to that band, you should definitely check them out)

Have you ever had to make a presentation for school..

I mean who hasn't? But seriously, I just had to make one using Powtoons, and it was the worst thing in the world. I would rather have my teeth pulled.

Like don't get me wrong, I love talking about art, blogging about art, writing about art, and doing presentations about art, but when it comes to having to do some weird presentation about why we are doing all of that for art, that is a little, not boring, but boring to me and I can't get my head wrapped around it..

Like why do we have to have statistics about who's looking at my art and my blogs.. and who's liking my posts and all..

Like art is supposed to be fun and relaxing right?! It's my escape. Presentations about my art make it feel like a chore *insert rolling eyes*

I like my art to be free and fun, not another chore for me to think about. I need to feel free to do my art on my time or else it's just another thing to be stressed about. And trust me, I have waaaaaaaaay too much to be stressed about right now..

So, once again, my art style has changed. Probably not for good, but for a while.

I've noticed a pattern. I make what I feel. When life is going great, I'm happy and life is giving me lemons, I make happy things such as decals, signs and things for other people. When life is throwing me every curve ball it can find, throwing me in the dirt, and making me want to hide in a hole, I want to make dark and creepy things.

Which in return is still okay, because I still make awesome art no matter what. So you should be able to tell when I'm in a happy mood or a depressed wanting to curl up in a ball mood.

But then, then there's the inbetween mood.. where I'm forcing myself to make happy things to keep myself from going into a depressed state.. that's when you get the mixed media of happy but subtly creepy art. The stuff you think is dark, but is also mixed with bright ass colors.. that's when I'm trying my best to stay afloat..

That era is right now. That's the skull I just posted. Trippy, creepy, but still brightly colored. It's almost a warning in a sense. Like "Hey, keep a close eye on her. She may go off the deep end at any point."

I know I won't any time soon, because things are just a mess right now, buuuuut it's still a trend, and you may just want to watch what art flows out of me next to see where my life is turning.

Hopefully I will go back to making fun decals and signs that make people laugh or roll their eyes.. but you never know. I may be stuck in creepy town for a hot minute.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
