wrecker has a MUCH stronger metabolism than every other clone. that means it takes a LOT of alcohol to get him drunk, at least compared to the average fella. because of this, whenever heās out drinking, it looks like heās really overdoing it, but in reality thatās what it takes to get him the good drunk buzz that he wants. his brothers are all used to this it barely fazes them anymore. to everyone else, theyāre immediately worried about alcohol poisoning.
when echo went drinking with them for the first time, he was horrified. they had only been there for thirty minutes and he had seen wrecker throw back at least five drinks so far. he went to tech in concern (normally he would go to hunter, but hunter doesnāt join them on bar trips usually, theyāre too overstimulating for him). tech, who was also a tad buzzed at that point, just told echo that wrecker was fine and not to worry about it.
echo didnāt think crosshair would do anything about it, so instead he just started shadowing wrecker. he watched in horror as the big guy took two more drinks. but the more he watched him, the more he realized that wrecker is just acting likeā¦ wrecker. it wasnāt until like, the ninth drink that the big guy finally started to slur his words and wobble a bit. echo is both fascinated and extremely worried. by the tenth drink, echo tried to snatch it from him and finally went on a frantic rant about how this is not safe.
and wrecker was drunk but not sloshed yet so heās just a giggly bitch at that point and starts laughing. eventually he managed to tell him that his high metabolism means itās harder for him to get drunk, so heās okay. then he took the drink back from his hand and chugged it.
echo still kept a close eye on him for the rest of the night at the bar. he wasnāt fully convinced until the next day when wrecker only had a light hangover. still, every time they go out drinking, echo keeps a close eye on wrecker out of worried instinct.
