And there’s no reason to think they couldn’t win. To wit:

[…] Derrick Van Orden, from Wisconsin, has been endorsed by Trump and the House minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, in his bid to win the state’s third congressional district. Van Orden is running for an open seat, one which Republicans have hope of claiming in 2022.

Even scarier is the likelihood of local successes – given that local positions are pretty much the basis for actual policy practice no matter where you are.

Further down the political foodchain, 6 January attendees are running for state office in areas around the country. Bridge Michigan reported that five people who were at the insurrection are now running for various positions in the state, including Jason Howland, who photos show entered the Capitol.

I feel like maybe I should unfollow some local photographers even though I love their event and family portraits. What drove me to this idea was looking at yet another wedding photo set in the biggest cathedral in Pittsburgh or another huge church and thinking, “Wow, it’s 2021 and young people are still getting married in the Catholic Church. Huh.” Maybe I should mute them temporarily.

But who knows, maybe I’m still bitter from when my 6th grade Catholic school teacher told us that any marriage between Catholics outside of a church isn’t valid in the eyes of God and I thought, “That’s ridiculous” even though I wanted to say it out loud.

#they could be doing it just to make their families happy #or who knows maybe they’re part of the God Squad who loves forced pregnancies and hates LGBTQ people #imagine looking at EVERYTHING the Catholic Church has done and thinking yep let’s have a wedding Mass!

I live near an elementary school. At the end of their school day, they use this giant speaker system to announce bus arrivals that’s so loud that even people like me who aren’t directly near it can hear it from inside. The other day around 3:30 while I was working, I heard, “Bus 24 is here! Also Mariah? MARIAH! YOU FORGOT YOUR BACKPACK IN THE GYM! PLEASE GET OFF THE BUS AND COME GET IT!”

I was definitely just like Mariah as a kid and felt just as embarrassed at that moment as I did then when I’d get publicly shamed by teachers for my forgetfulness.

#little did I know that this near constant forgetfulness was a prevalent symptom of my undiagnosed ADHD!
