The Boku no Hero Academia: Ultra Archive New Heroes TemplateĀ (both PSD and online generator) uses various fonts to make things look cool. If you donāt have those fonts on your computer, this post is to help you out!
Forenote: You can always google these font names to find free downloads of them, but I will not be linking font downloading sites unless I know the sites are reliable. Thatās not to say whatever pops up on google isnāt reliable, I just havenāt used them before, so I canāt vouch for them.
All of the character names, hero names, tag lines, and other stuff are styled in a font calledĀ āImpactā (or āImpact Regularā). Itās pretty much the only font thatās key to the template, having appeared in the original Japanese version and making it look uniform.
This font comes standard to most computers, and I canāt seem to find a download of it on a reliable font-downloading site, but if for whatever reason you donāt have this font and canāt access it on official sources (like Microsoftās font page or fonts.com), you can message @yourultraarchive and I can give you a private download link (due to bandwidth reasons, I donāt want to post the link publicly).
The Japanese font used in the templates is āMS Gothicā, which is much thicker and angular than other Japanese fonts likeĀ āMS Minchoā. Itās as close as I could get to the original Japanese version of the Ultra Archive (if not exactly the same, itās a bit hard to tell). If you donāt have this font, you can try to use something similar (something sans-serif and preferably thick), but these are your profiles, so as long as you think it looks good you can do whatever you want!
āMS Gothicā a standard on Windows computers (not sure about Apples), but if you do need/want to download it, the safest bet is to download it from official sources (linked on Microsoftās font page).
Both the PSD and online templates use āManga TempleāĀ on all non-title text to achieve a manga-like look, but if you prefer different fonts, you can always use one of these:
āAnime AceāĀ (a popular choice for comic artists out there)
āComic ReliefāĀ (a font that isnāt all-caps)
āChinacatāĀ (also not all-caps)
āKomikaāĀ (all-caps, butĀ click here for more variations of the Komika fonts)
āComic Sansā (I know people hate on it a lot but thereās really nothing wrong with Comic Sans)
āVerdanaā (which was the main font used in fascansā English scanslation of the Ultra Archives), or
āCalibriā (also used in the English scanslation)
The latter 3 are all standard fonts on pretty much any computer. Fonts likeĀ āManga Templeā andĀ āAnime Aceā are caps-locked, so if you prefer something where lowercase letters are possible, one of the latter fonts might be more up your alley. (The example below is from @sirnighteyeās profile of Hello Nurse, which usesĀ āComic Sansā since this was using the Online Generator and Iām assuming their browser defaulted to that due to not havingĀ āManga Templeā installed; but still, kudos to them!)
Your choices for fonts shouldnāt be limited to these of course, these are just suggestions! If none of these suit your fancy, you can always download some other fonts here, here, or here.
You donāt have to limit yourself to the two or three fonts used in the defaultāyou can change up the fonts for things like the quotes to make them stand out more!
For example, in the example above (from theĀ English scanslation), the description and personal data sections are inĀ āVerdanaā, the personal data answers are in boldedĀ āCalibriā, and the quote is in another font entirely (Iām not entirely sure what the exact font is though, sorry!).
Changing font faces, however, is limited to the PSD template onlyāthere isnāt a way to change fonts in the Online Generator without doing a lot of HTML. Maybe if I get a lot of demand Iāll put up a tutorial for that, though. āTil next time!
