I'm sorry, but Pushing Daisies raised the bar for every romantic couple ever. This man can literally not touch the woman he loves or else she will die and does that ever make him lose his devotion to her? No, never. Ned loves Chuck and Chuck loves Ned, that is the fundamental truth at the core of the show and even though they can never touch each other their bond only grew stronger.
If your romance isn't as well written as two people who literally can't touch then I don't want it

Led through the mist, by the milk-light of moon, all that was lost, is revealed. Our long bygone burdens, mere echoes of the spring, but where have we come, and where shall we end? If dreams canāt come true, then why not pretend? How the gentle wind, beckons through the leaves, as autumn colors fall.Ā
Somewhere lost in the clouded annals of history, lies a place that few have seen. A mysterious place, called The Unknown.
OVER THE GARDEN WALLĀ (2014)
My ancestors, watching me dump an entire stick of cinnamon, two cloves, an allspice berry, and a generous grating of nutmeg into my tea, sweetened with white sugar and loaded with cream, while I sit in my clean warm house surrounded by books, 25+ outfits for different occasions, and 6 pairs of shoes, in a building heated so well I have the windows open in mid-autumn:
Our daughter prospers. We are proud of her. She has never labored in a field but knows riches we could not have imagined.
I like this so much better than the idea that our ancestors would be embarrassed or ashamed of us for beingĀ āsoftā or some crap like that.
queen of flowers, queen of fields.
Still trying to come to terms with the fact I'll never be a librarian who can speak a dead language and be recruited by a ruggish but handsome explorer for a quest to lift the curse and save the world

Is it just me or is the ābody positiveā movement not working? Like at all?
Other people have said this before/better, but the problem was presenting all women as beautiful as opposed to eliminating the need for women to be beautiful
Itās not working because the focus is STILL on trying to view yourself as attractive no matter how you look, instead of (as stated above) eliminating the need to feel āattractive.ā
The body positive movement SHOULD be focused on bodily autonomy and taking care of your health. The best way to be āpositiveā toward your body is to treat it well, not by repeating some āI am beautifulā mantra over and over. You donāt have to be pretty. You donāt have to see yourself as pretty. Others donāt have to see you as pretty. PRETTY IS NOT IMPORTANT. Pretty is not your worth. You exist for you, not for anyone elseās gaze.
I agree with everyone here, and I also think another major reason it isnāt working is because itās so focused on consumer culture. So much of it seems to revolve around spending a lot of money on clothing and beauty products, shopping, and posting selfies. But companies obviously will never truly care about anyoneās body image, which is how we end up where we are now, with people contouring away their natural features and buying waste trainers and believing itās āfeministā and ābody positiveā. Ā I think itās really interesting that our current instagram makeup culture arose around the same time as the body positive stuff started, and have become somewhat intertwined. If you think about it, spending lots of money to purchase products from a corporation run by a man, spending lots of your time applying those products, and ultimately putting in a lot of effort to alter your appearance to something that society sees as more attractive is the opposite of whateverĀ ābody positiveā should be. Yet weāre told it is body positive because itās a creative way to express yourself and itās fun. But whatās creative about following the same trends everyone else is following in a generic style designed by a corporation? Whatever authenticity, flawed or otherwise, this movement might have once had has been totally taken over as a corporate marketing scheme.Ā
Can we discuss this in the scope of plastic surgery and how all these influencers are doing it in the name of feminism and body positivity. They all say that they did it for themselves and nobody else but we donāt exist in a vacuum and the beauty standards set by these corporations, run by men, are why you feel the need to change anything in the first place.

I saw everyone on twitter tearing Emma Watson apart for saying sheāsĀ self - partneredĀ instead of single and decided to watch her interview for British Vogue to know what the hell was she trying to say with that. I was very surprised to find a 30 minute video in which amongst other things she talks about the following:
She felt undeserving when she was appointed as UN Women goodwill ambassador and sought out Gloria Steinem to learn about feminist activism.
She thinks the criticism she received for being a white feminist was useful because it made her educate herself.
She says thereās a desperate need to reform the education system in the UK to change the way they are taught the history of how Britain has been involved in foreign affairs and how they profited from slavery.
She felt anxious about approaching 30 because thereās a lot of pressure to have a husband and a baby by then and sheās still figuring her life out.
She was so young when she was casted in Harry Potter that she doesnāt remember much of her life before it and she went to therapy to deal with her issues with fame. She used to feel very guilty for being unhappy because she thought she should enjoy fame more.
The interviewer is a transgender woman and they discuss transgender issues for a while. Emma is in regular contact with a trans child which makes the topic of trans rights emotional for her because sheās very anxious for this kidās safety.
She talks about her role as Meg March in the new Little Women movie and defends that unlike what many people say choosing to be a wife and a mother doesnāt make Meg a less feminist character and quotes a line from the movie, āJust because my dreams are different than yours it doesnāt mean they are unimportant.ā Ā
She wishes more people would realize sheās not Hermione Granger but also understands why they want to see that in her because Hermione is a symbol for her too.
She used to think she could never be happy without a partner and now that she has learnt to navigate that better and is genuinely happy single sheās started to think of herself as self - partnered in contrast to the time when she thought of herself as single = lonely.
Every media outlet decided to focus in an out of context quote from the three minutes she talked about her dating life when the actual interview had a lot of depth and way more important things were discussed. Iām sad and angry but not surprised.
