Frank begins the song Bad Religion speaking to a taxi driver, asking him to be his “shrink” because he needs someone to talk to, implying he's going through some sort of inner emotional turmoil, which he is. He then asks him to “outrun the demons”, even though the listeners, the driver, and even Frank know there aren't any real demons on the roads he says this because he’s trying to outrun his demons, aka whatever's eating at him. The driver tells him “Allahu akbar” meaning God is good, a common phrase said in Arabic to express deep faith and represents that Allah is greater than all worldly concerns, joys, sadness, or challenges. The taxi driver is most likely trying to give him some peace of mind by saying that, but it's no use. As i previously mentioned, Frank Ocean comes out a year after the release of this song, the majority of Muslims view homosexual acts as morally wrong, this shows a great contrast with Frank’s internal struggles as a gay man with religion, where him being queer is seen as sinful. So his apprehension isn’t unreasonable. But it's not just Muslims, many major faiths like Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Evangelical Protestantism, Orthodox Judaism, just to name a few, have conservative interpretations condemning same-sex acts as sinful. So not only is Frank already facing inner turmoil, he's facing inner turmoil about his queer lover in a world where he's most likely to be judged for it.

Unlike angels, who are rigid and bound by purpose, Dean keeps choosing to care, to resist, to keep going. And I think that’s what really captures the angels attention, not some ideal of righteousness, but the raw, messy persistence of someone who refuses to give up, no matter how much it costs him
