Part of the reason why I love acting is that you do hope that somehow your work will connect to people and somehow expand their consciousness somewhat, and being able to challenge notions of prejudice through work - through my work - is really thrilling.

You experience things and then they’re over, and you still can’t explain them. Gods, aliens, other dimensions… I’m just a man in a can.

I’m lucky. I don’t know whether I’m deserving or not. All I know is that I work damn hard for everything. And God helps those who help themselves. Every day is like an exam. I believe destiny and hard work go hand in hand. I was studying to be an engineer when my mom and my brother sent my pictures for the Miss India contest. I didn’t even know about it. If that isn’t destiny, what is?

I will admit sometimes I question ‘who am I’ a lot since I am other people for a living. But I am learning we are never just a certain way, we create our own identity like I would a character and I am trying to find and create the life I love and want to lead for the rest of my life.
