“ I thought the plan was to have a few laughs, slit some throats— ”

“ Is this your handiwork? ”

“ You upset my delicate sensibilities. ”

“ Morality is not static. Right and wrong are a matter of perspective. ”

“ You don’t get to do that—you don’t get to quit. ”

“ Andraste’s holy cabbage, you look like shit. ”

“ I did my good deed for the year. ”

“ Well, that does free me from promises I didn’t intend to keep. ”

“ Do you need a healer? ”

“ Old man, will you let me work? ”

“ You’re asking me to go where? ”

“ There’s nothing for miles. ”

“ I didn’t find it as impressive as you did. ”

“ If I were forced to choose between eating that rat over there and being considerate of _____’s feelings, I would eat the rat. ”

"'A specialist?'" There's a slight, amused twinge in their tone. "Do you mean to make yourself sound so mysterious?"

Or eager? She answered them quickly, and doesn't seem even the slightest bit concerned by the prospect of letting someone other than her mechanic take a look.

the cruel or careless intentions of her creators mattered not, the effect on babette was the same: no way to abate the need to cry, dulled nerves that only gave her access to the worsts of pain, and churning emotions in viscera that doesn't exist. babette simply does as she must: she deals with it. and, somehow, sometimes, dealing with it looks like — whatever this is. she has to ask herself if this is appeasement, or sating of both their curiosities? perhaps both.

SITUATION: our muses are acquainted because one of them is their friend's roommate. muse a shows up when their friend isn't there and ends up hanging out with muse b one on one.

GO: our muses go to a zoo or theme park together and get lost.

INVITE: sender cooks for receiver for the first time

INVITED: receiver cooks for sender for the first time

TOGETHER: our muses spend the night for the first time

TRY: our muses hooked up and are hanging out the next day

COMFORT: sender is going through a break up and receiver offers to cheer them up

Her suggestion takes them by surprise. It isn't everyday a girl offers you a peek inside her chassis... But, so wrapped up un their own well-crafted passiveness, Iago often forgets just how strong the pull of their curiosity is. Her suggestion is more enticing than they would have expected.

in truth, their question sparked an immediate curiosity. what does her engine sound like? mechanics, cogs and wires, housed in a porcelain, canopic jar. it's not physically possible, to contrive and contort herself down to listen. it would have been strange, assumedly, to ask her sister. but, a friend? sure, this is definitely the normal thing to ask.
