The 1.1 update is coming tomorrow at 6PM CEST! In the meantime, take a look below, you will find the list of every new features and changes who will appear in the upcoming update!

Changelog v1.1:

-MAC support, -German and Russian support, -English proofread and corrected.

New features:

-50 new dialogs, -Cook Fish & Meat at your campfire, -Exploration now carry over the next area, -Camp stations’ condition now degrades over time, -“Effects of time”: now, the longer you stay on the island, the harder it gets to do some actions, -An Easy mode!

Balancing:

-Completely reworked the balancing, -Stealth skillchecks reworked!

Bug fixes.

Hi all! 

After a week on Steam we are still here! During the whole week we have read all your feedbacks, and we have pushed a little update. 1.02 is now online with new things: -HOLA! Say hello to the Spanish version of Dead In Bermuda! The entire game is now available in Spanish! -We added shortcuts in the character’s action wheel! You can now with one click send characters back to camp fire and to resting area, if there’s an available slot. -Opinion gains reworked: There are now 3 “states” of relationship, Bad, Neutral and Good, which changes the chance% of getting bad opinions when 2 or more characters do an activity together. -A ton of minor fixes and tweaks. If you want more details, check out our update post on Steam -> HERE After more than a week we are sadly not anymore on Steam front page.  It’s kind of amazing for us to have been on the front page during a week though! So big thanks to all the people who visited our Steam page and particularly people who bought Dead In Bermuda! We love you!

Hey! Today we are not here to present you aspects of the game or awesome characters of Dead In Bermuda, we let you the pleasure to discover all about our game in a few days, the 27th for the release or maybe before…

Today we will share with you our actualities of the next weeks around some points.

First things first, we repeat ourselves one time again; the release of our game is on this planet, this year, this month, during next week! We release the Kraken on Steam the 27th of august after 1 year and a half of development. Our Steam page is already up and you can watch our trailer if you don’t understand what we are talking about. (You can also watch it here)  

Second, we are so excited to share the game with you that we will let you try the game before the release. Yes you will be able to try the game with a special Steam Demo who is available the 24th of august. This Steam demo is the occasion, for you, to try the game for free and make your own opinion on our upcoming release.

This week we present you two other survivors. They can be kind and helpful or kill you just to reach their objectives. They are the kind of people that you want with you to survive and don’t want in the same time on a desert island.  

Julia Gagarinovitch (33):

The girlfriend of the Russian spy, who maybe is one herself…

Description:

Julia is the new wife of Yuri. She is above earthly concerns, and doesn’t care about what other people think of her. She knows how to obtain what she wants, and speaks her mind openly without care of hurting people’s feelings. She is very secretive, nobody knows what she did in her life and where she is coming from.

The old psycho survivalist Description: Jacob had a bad feeling this morning when he boarded flight, and he was right! No one listened. They are all morons in any case, no one is prepared to survive in an hostile environment like he is. He KNEW that someday he could only count on himself, like that day when his Samantha sneaked out of home, without ever coming back. Links: -None

-What is Dead in Bermuda?

DEAD IN BERMUDA is a survival management game with RPG and adventure elements, in which you lead a team of 8 survivors from a plane crash on a strange island. You must assign your survivors to tasks, gain experience and level up your survival skills, research and craft new items for the camp, explore the jungle for resources and solve the mysteries behind this strange island…

That’s the heart but if you want to know more about features, characters or anything else take a look on the Steam page of the game or on our official Website. -Big action in Dead In Bermuda? In Dead In Bermuda there are no phases during which the player has to react in real time. The main aspect of the game is the management of the characters day-to-day survival. It's really a turn based management game with adventure and RPG elements where you must have a strategic reflection on all your moves. Your strategic choices are the only things that can make you progress/survive or die in few days. -When will it be available? It will be released on Steam the 27th of August 2015 -Where can I buy Dead in Bermuda? Of course you can buy it on Steam, but you can also buy it on our DLgamer shop. -Dead In Bermuda will be available on PC? Mac? Linux? Atari 2600? Sorry, for the moment there are no plans for Mac, Linux or anything else, but if we plan a release on Mac or Linux be sure that we will announce it here and on our social media.   -In which languages is the game? At the release it will be available in English, French, German and Spanish. -Can I play with my friend to Dead In Bermuda? Dead In Bermuda is only single player, you will be really alone to lead your team to survive/die. -Will the game have Steam achievements? Yes Dead In Bermuda has badges, cards and plenty of Steam achievements. -Steam cloud? Yes, Dead In Bermuda uses Steam cloud. Hey ! Less than a month now until the release of Dead In Bermuda on Steam! For the occasion we have a little surprise for you ….A NEW TRAILER!

This trailer has been made by Marlon Wiebe who have realized trailers for great indie games like “FTL”, “Crypt of the necrodancer” or “Darkest Dungeon”. It’s really a pleasure for us to work with a really great video maker like him.

Description:

Alice is a Canadian woman, Bob's wife and the household CEO. She manages and controls every little things, this way of life gives her some extraordinary organisation skills. She is a keeper of traditions, a servant of old-fashion. Cheerful, she speaks about anything, with anyone, all the time. She knows any little gossip that is going on, which gives her an essential spot in any community. Her only hobby is hiking, and she hikes like a pro.

The “Tourist”

Description: With the combination of a boring job and a demanding wife, holidays are a sacred moment of joy for him. He does nothing, and enjoys it. His favorite occupation is sighing and fishing. He is neither smart or courageous, but has a good heart.

43 days left to go before the release of Dead In Bermuda on Steam! While waiting for the game we invite you to discover the soundtrack! We created a special account on SoundCloud to share it with you. What we wanted to do with the sounds of DiB was to transcribe the gloomy and tropical atmosphere of the video game. When you hear them you know that you are in psychological trouble and depression is not far from you (Warning, you must take care of your statistics!). All those tracks will lead you on your journey on the island, through the camp, the jungle and in all twists of your struggle to save the life of our 8 survivors. All music of Dead In Bermuda were made by good talented friends of us, Badabing Music. Badabing Music is a musical studio based in Clermont-Ferrand, France. With a first prototype!

Things were a bit slow lately due to the combination of summer holidays and unexpected work on other projects, but we are back on track with a new team member!

Here comes a new challenger: Thomas, on coding!

We now have:

dziff: Arts.

himrahill: Game design.

thomas: Code.

The game design has seen many changes these days, but well that is to be expected. The core concepts of the game are still here: TEAM + MANAGEMENT + SURVIVAL + RANDOMNESS + RPG.

Working on the game system right now, a lot of fun since every little element is tied to many others... But we're starting to see the light, the cool thing being that the system we designed seems to be quite expandable, like a core boardgame-like base system and its many extensions that you can add over time.

This week I'll tell you a bit more about one of the major game systems: Actions.

You control several characters.

Each character has his pool of action points. The more of a certain skill he has, the more action points. (more about that later)

Clicking on an interactive object (it can be himself, another character or some object in the scene) will give to the player several choices which depends on the situation: depending of the object itself, some game flag that was activated, the time of day, the other characters present in the scene, ... there can be many conditions. These are Contextual Actions.

And doing a contextual action costs, you've guessed, action points, except free actions like looking in a character inventory.

When every character has no more action points left, the night falls.

Some special "night event" can occur (more about that later too), and then it's morning: people get hungry, their morale decreases, their fatigue lowers, etc... and they resplenish their action points.

If you followed me so far, you can say that the passage of time in Bermuda is tied to using the actions points: Each action point used advances time toward nightfall. Relative time ftw!

I'll let you imagine now what happens when you get a character confidently exploring the hostile jungle and he loses his last action points in a vicious trap, forcing him to sleep alone in the jungle... You can say bye-bye to him (or maybe some extraordinary things will happen...? Maybe... But don't count on it.)

Description:

Coming back from holidays with his new wife Julia - 15 years younger than him - everyone suspects he is some cold blooded ex-kgb guy, but he is in fact very kind, loyal and protective, especially for his beloved daughter Illyana, only memento of his dear former wife.

He could be very helpful, but no one dares asking him anything...

He knows that Julia flirts with any younger man she crosses, but he doesn't care anymore, he prefers to sink good vodkà bottles than to anger for these trivial matters.
