I have an idea for a fic but I'm scared of getting characterization right or depicting sexual abuse / abuse dynamics right. Or if there would even be interest for it. Caught between the need to get this idea of my head and out there into the world, but also scared of doing it at all so sorta paralyzed. Can't give up on it, but can't get past brainstorming. Don't know if I have a poiny really, just lamenting

it is never wrong to put more fanworks into the world.

the audience for your fic idea may be big, it may be small. (it's probably bigger than you think!) you might do the characterization and depictions of abuse flawlessly, or there might be hiccups, awkwardness, imperfections. you might be thrilled with how it turns out, or you might be disappointed with it compared to your shining vision.

but if you don't write it, there will be a hole in the world where your fic could have been. and you'll never know the creative joy of seeing this idea come to life, however imperfect, however small.

so pleeeease write it, for the sake of everyone who wants to see sexual abuse depicted in fics, for the sake of fandom, for the sake of your own creative bliss <3
