So his father wasn’t here. He was, presumably, tucked away in golden Lanling City. Meng Yao still didn’t know what was going on, why his father suddenly decided to pluck him out of Yunmeng nearly fifteen years after his affair with his mother, or why his mother had been left behind.

Alright. Really, his mother had been left behind when Jin-guowang had ended that particular tour of Yunmeng’s pleasures, but then so should he have been. Why come back for him now?

No wonder Sisi had been so uneasy.
