Dead On Air

The set team are rolling up their sleeves and gathering their paint brushes together. 

Briony,Naomi, Lucy, Lucy and Kat got together today to wallpaper the flats for them to dry over the weekend ready to be painted next week.

Only problem....trying to figure out how to wall paper!

First, the issue of how to open the table... it was a slow morning (we hardly had any coffee!)

Then we had issues of we couldn't find the measuring jug, and we needed to measure the right amount of water to make the paste. Luckily, we had an empty drinks bottle and thanks to google, we worked it out. "how many millimetres are there in a pint?" According to Delia, theres 570ml in a pint. Thanks Delia, Thanks google!

We then started to get into the flow of things, paste was all made and things were going well!

Once we finished pasting the paper, it was time to try and get it onto the flats.... Only problem.... Lucy, Lucy, Naomi and Briony are quite short, and even standing on a chair.... they couldn't reach the top of the flats to put the paper on, so a lot of bubbles were made! (And we cant have air bubbles under the paper!)

Where was Kat you ask? Well she was scraping off the old wall paper from other flats we needed for Dead on Air, and as there was a limited amount of buckets in the studio, she ended up using a dogs bowl!

We never found Hyde's bowl....Maybe thats a good thing. Anyway. Once the group realised that Kat is over 5ft5, it was up to her to stand on the chair and try to paper the flats!

And with great success, We did it! 5 flats all wonderfully papered, with no bubbles in them! Great job guys! 

Also, did you notice that was the first time Kat has appeared in a photo on the blog.... As Lucy Connor says "Kat, you write the blogs, your the voice of it, but we've never seen you on there" Well ladies and gentlemen, there is a reason behind this.... Whenever theres a photo being done of me, i normally pull stupid faces or i'm talking in the middle of the photo so i look ridiculous. If you don't believe me, well heres proof!

Yes, it's day 2 of the tube strike in London. Luckily everyone made it into LBN without any problems, and we're all here for you to keep you updated on the latest travel news!

What's their advise for commuting into London today?

"Go to the pub, have a pint and wait for all of this to blow over"

So here they are!

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the wonderful Max Cavenham who will be playing the wonderful Stanley, LBN's Anchorman!

Stanley is the face of LBN news, he has been working as an anchorman for years and it's his dream job. He has a loving wife who has supported him to get his dream job over the years and they are very happily married, nothing could ever come between them. He feels that its his duty to report the news, no matter what events happens or how close to home it may be.....

And now our other face of LBN, the new girl on the block, the gorgeous, talented Samantha Clinch, who will be playing our weather reporter Alex!

Alex is the newest recruit to LBN, and she is welcomed to the busy, hectic lifestyle that is LBN. This is Alex's big break, she's very talented and very good at predicting the weather. She wants to prove to the team thats she's capable of doing her job and not just the "girl with a pretty face that points at a green screen" and will try her best to help out any way possible during difficult situations. 

Yea, maybe not just yet. We've announced to you lovely people all but 2 of our main cast members....All that's left is the new weather girl that we've heard so much about, and the Anchorman. So lefts make a deal....

We'll tell you more information about these two characters, and who's playing them.... if you can help us reach £1000.... It's not much of a request, we've already raised £920!!!

so, my question is..

Time for one of our smaller characters, but still a very important one. Let me introduce you to our LBN outside reporter John!

John is LBN's regular outside reporter, informing the public of the latest, breaking news live at the scenes. John is reporting the latest on these attacks, showing the hectic scenes behind him, however, his report is shortly interrupted....

We posted earlier this week announcing our 2 camera operators. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, our younger camera operator will now be played by the lovely Topher Collins.

Mark is our younger camera operator, he thinks he knows everything there needs to be known about cameras, that he's gods greatest gift to women and he is very..... confident. However, he's very selfish, arrogant only thinks about himself and cares very little about others.

As the 6 Nations started yesterday, the Superbowl happening today, its quite a super weekend for the sporting world, and i'm sure the sports team at LBN news would be very busy updating the latest news to the lovely viewers at home. So, i thought, why not share more cast reveals today? 

The 4th character already! Without further delay, let me introduce you to JP – The Director of LBN, played by the amazing Tommy Alexander!

JP is the Director of LBN. He is a very talented director and knows exactly what he wants.  He’s a good friend with the Producer, some might think he's a very, very good friend with the Producer. However he pays very little attention to anyone else in the team, he likes to keep himself to himself. However, when struck with the event forcing him to become equals with everyone else in the team... will he be a team player or still be the selfish man and only think about himself?

Today we had another studio rehearsal, but this time, we had some cast members involved too! This was our last studio rehearsal before the big final shooting week so we used every minute as possible to get as much work done so we are fully prepared for the big week! (only 2 weeks to go!)

So whats next for Dead on Air? We've had our final studio rehearsal until the big week, but that doesn't mean we're sat down twiddling our thumbs for 2 weeks and not rehearsing. We're going ot be holding outside rehearsal, that doesn't mean we will be outside in the cold and the rain. it means outside the studio. So, we'll find a quite room somewhere, thats big enough for all of us to act, and finalise the shooting script, the schedule and all the other bits and bobs until the 17th February comes along!

Time to meet our latest characters, ladies and gentlemen, let me present to you, one of our camera operators Christopher Worth, played by the delightful and charming Iain Millan.

There's fireworks going off in our studio as we're so happy!!! (not literally, as that would be a major Health and Safety issue, but in our heads, they are)

We've hit the £800 mark!!!! YAY!!!

So, we only need another £200 to have hit our beautiful goal. We've got some exciting fundraising events coming up next week, which will hopefully get us to hit that beautiful target, but we still need your help!!!!

So what have the Dead on Air team been up to recently?? Well the Set Designers, Naomi Peach and Briony Barrett, took a little trip to Buckinghamshire, to visit a recycling scenery warehouse to have a look at what items we could grab for Dead on Air. And would you believe it, we now have a News Desk! Along with a chair for it, a city skyline for the backdrop and lots of other little bits and bobs to make Dead on Air look amazing! (The flooring they got was used for Alan Carr's new year spectacular show on Channel 4!)

However i don't think a fruit hat or a crown really fits the Dead on Air style, but we'll allow them two to have a little fun while shopping, they've been working so hard! With a little bit of paint and a clean, everything will look good as new!
