Kim Soleum opens a white door.
He wakes up at a familiar train. He looks down at his hands.
He wants to scream, but he can't.
Kim Soleum does it again. He does it better, this time.
He knew so much more now.
This time, he's going to go home.
Kim Soleum thinks that maybe he does not have a home.
Maybe it's a fabrication.
Kim Soleum does not want to try anymore.
He wants to be happy and not scared.
He receives an offer to work somewhere he'll be happy. A dazzling TV show.
But he still wakes up on the train again.
Kim Soleum is not a person. He won't try to be one.
This time, he quits Daydream Inc. He applies for the Disaster Management Bureau.
Maybe Agent Bronze was right. Maybe he can create his own home.
Maybe that was the answer.

In the end, no matter how much he convinces himself, he can't stop wanting. Whether he wants for home...or the people who loved him as he kept reaching for it in vain.
Go Yeongeun watches and observes. Everyone's fighting each other. No one seems to be listening to each other, all arguing about who gets out at what station, death, ah...
She sits down, giving up on convincing the others to get along. It's no use if they want to panic.
She spies a man. His hair is cleanly cut, but it's covering his face since he's looking down. He's been sitting down impassively since earlier, not responding at all to any of the announcements or the commotion, his hands folded neatly on his lap. She doesn't know what to do, but she wants to live, so she thinks.
A destination...was something you aspired to, right? Like something you don't have yet, but want to get...the other stations, they're probably feelings that a lot of people already had...
But 'tranquility', that's pretty abstract. She doesn't really think she's felt particularly 'tranquil' in her life, whereas she's felt euphoria, anger...
She looks around the car. She clenches her fists, muttering to herself, gathering her courage...
"I'll be getting off at this station, I'll be getting off at this station...!"
She can't afford to stay in this train. Whether she stays on or she gets off...it's a gamble in and of itself!
"Everyone!" She says. "We should get off here!"
She tries to explain through all the yelling and panic. In the end, she doesn't convince anyone to come along.
But she feels the gaze of the dead-eyed man the entire time. He's listening. But somehow, she knows he's not going off at this station.
[This stop is Tranquility, Tranquility Station. The doors are...]
She steps out of the train with bated breath. One foot out, and then the other. Her eyes are squeezed shut, fists still balled. She feels the harsh wind of the train departing without her.
The only one dropped off at Tranquility Station.
She opens her eyes, and she's still alive.
[Congratulations, new employees!]
Her head whirls around. Who survived...?
The host says something about her being the top candidate, and she accepts a gift box numbly.
After the orientation, she taps the dead-eyed man's shoulder.
She may as well be friendly. After all, he's the only one that properly listened to her! Though she's not sure anymore if she imagined it. And he somehow indirectly gave her a hint...? Very very indirectly...regardless, there's a strange sense of gratefulness.
"My name is Go Yeongeun," she says. "It's nice to meet you."
The man stares at nothing. She's about to go, vaguely embarrassed, when she hears something--less than a whisper.
He doesn't say anything else as he leaves. His back disappears into the door.
Sometimes, he wishes he was a lump again. A pile of meat and bones. Barely held together. Melt.
A lump has no feelings. No worries. Nothing. When he's like that, he is nothing. He is tranquil. He's experienced it numerous times before.
But in the end, this is what he returns to--frustration, yearning, hot tears running down. He is alone. He feels everything. He is Kim Soleum, no matter how much he doesn't want to be.
