I love how nostalgia (because Eraserheads is the most iconic pinoy band) and tragic the musical is. It's all about reality, justice, rape, gender, and friendship. The lesson I learned is not to be dependent on people around you and not all people who give their hands to help you are really helping you. Some will may use you for their own benefit.

Anthony, Emman and Hector were friends, they lived in same room when they were college student. They met this girl named Joy in their ROTC class because of their GODDAMNCADET Mr. Banlaoi, Joy is a vendor of merienda and Mr. Banlaoi help them. FASTFORWARD. Joy is a victim of rape, her friends and boyfriend witnessed it, but they didn't do anything to call the cops. They just sent her home like nothing happened. Joy became a prostitute after what happened and the man who ALWAYS help them made her a runner(for drugs) had a daughter without a father. She call her friends and ex bf to say that she's already okay, that she forgive them and she want to start over again and need someone so she can start fixing her life, but they neglect her. They're the only hope for Joy because she trust them. SURELY, THAT IS SO SADDDD. I CRY LIKE A BABY, BITCH.

The line that hits me is her letter to her daughter.

See how important self-love is. You can't expect anyone to be there for you anytime specially in your darkest times. At the end of the day all you've got is you, yourself.
