Never stop networking, that’s how you get opportunities

Don’t tell your personal business in the workplace

If you live in a competitive job market with lots of opportunities, it doesn’t make sense to stay at a company longer than 2 years unless you’re learning new skills that you can use. Once things get stagnant, it’s time to go.

I’m reviewing candidates and resumes for a position I’m hiring for. And a shockingly low amount of people use cover letters when they apply.

I know it says (Optional) when you’re applying for a job. But I can tell you the people who do use Cover Letters stick out a lot more than the people who don’t.

Also, if you’re being ambitious and applying for a position that you’re not completely qualified for, you should DEFINITELY include a cover letter. That’s your chance to talk to them and state your case of why you should be considered.
