The story of the Little Red Hen would be very different if she were creating a generic, store-bought loaf of white bread. Who will help me bleach this flour? Who will help me hydrogenate this oil? Who will help me introduce enzimes produced by fungus and bacteria to the corn starch to make high fructose corn syrup?

My Family 4/26/15

Me and 3-year-old 4/22/2014

My dogs hear the walking dead theme on my phone and get excited. It is time to pick up the kids from school! On our way back home today, we stopped by the tract-home group of mailboxes. I recognized the man in the wheelchair departing from the boxes as our neighbor 2 doors down. As soon as my daughter opened her passenger door to get the mail, our chihuahua, Nico, darted after our neighbor. I knew he would come back, so I told Clara to stop chasing after him. It suddenly dawned on me that Nico probably thought it was me in the wheelchair! After collecting the mail and the small dog, we turned the corner and I explained the situation to my wheelbound comrade. Well, that is one way to meet your neighbors, lol.
